DXC Technology is committed to building diverse, inclusive teams. Transition Process Consultant

Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week)

Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.

The Transition Process Consultant is responsible for designing and establishing the transition processes, governance frameworks, and workflows required across infrastructure, platforms, networking, and service management.

Key Responsibilities

- Process design and governance: Define, document and implement end-to-end service transition processes aligned with ITIL 4 and tailored to govern the replacement of incumbent suppliers by DXC.
- Transition lifecycle management: Manage the transition from strategy and build through service validation and operational acceptance testing (OAT), followed by formal handover to DXC’s business-as-usual operations.
- Cross-tower integration workflows: Define process links and dependencies across technical towers, including hybrid infrastructure, enterprise platforms, secure networking and service desks.
- Risk and quality assurance: Define governance gates, maintain risk registers and establish compliance checkpoints so that migrated services meet secure-environment accreditation requirements.
- Stakeholder and supplier process alignment: Act as the process authority, aligning internal programme governance with DXC’s delivery methods and the exit processes of incumbent suppliers.

Required Skills & Experience

- IT service transition and ITIL 4: Experience of applying service transition principles, change enablement, service validation and release management in large-scale enterprise transformations.
- Supplier replacement and exit frameworks: Proven experience of designing governance models for supplier-to-supplier transitions, multi-supplier environments and the separation of complex services.
- Process mapping and architecture: Advanced proficiency in process modelling using BPMN, developing standard operating procedures and defining RACI matrices for secure operations.
- ITSM and tooling alignment: Understands how service management tools such as ServiceNow support transition workflows, CMDB discovery and the handover of ticketing processes.
- Secure-environment compliance: Familiarity with governance, risk and compliance frameworks used in secure, defence and government-adjacent environments.

Leadership & Personal Strengths

- Structured and analytical thinking: Able to turn complex, multi-supplier transition environments into clear, repeatable and auditable processes.
- Collaborative influencing: Builds agreement among internal stakeholders, incumbent suppliers and DXC, while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
- Clear communication: Translates operating models and workflow dependencies into concise, actionable documentation for governance and executive audiences.
- Resilience Under Pressure: Methodical and calm when managing compressed timelines, competing supplier priorities, and high-stakes service cutovers.
- Detail and rigour: Maintains clear governance gates and identifies compliance or operational gaps during supplier migration.
