Position Summary:

Novo Precision is seeking a skilled and dependable Wire EDM (WEDM) Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Wire EDM equipment to produce high-precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a precision manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with tight tolerances. Previous Wire EDM experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong CNC machining experience and a willingness to learn WEDM processes are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate Wire EDM equipment to manufacture precision components.

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.

- Perform machine setups, including loading programs, selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures, and positioning workpieces.

- Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.

- Inspect completed parts using appropriate measuring equipment to ensure dimensional and quality requirements are met.

- Work within tight tolerances and follow established manufacturing and quality procedures.

- Troubleshoot basic machine, setup, and cutting issues.

- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Accurately document production, inspection results, and other required manufacturing information.

- Work closely with Programming, Engineering, Quality, and other members of the manufacturing team to resolve production issues.

- Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, and efficiency.

- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Previous experience operating Wire EDM (WEDM) equipment preferred.

- CNC machining or other precision manufacturing experience will also be considered.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

- Understanding of dimensional tolerances and basic GD&T preferred.

- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to perform machine setups and make necessary adjustments during production.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.

- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete production documentation.

Preferred Experience

- Wire EDM setup and operation.

- WEDM programming experience.

- Experience machining complex, high-precision components.

- Experience working with tight tolerances.

- CNC machining, Swiss machining, or toolroom experience.

- Experience in a precision manufacturing or metalworking environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.

- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to safely enter and exit company vehicles and perform loading and unloading duties.
