About this role

The Engineering Technician Intern supports the engineering team by assisting with manufacturing, process improvement, equipment, quality, and product-related projects. This position provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while developing technical skills in troubleshooting, data analysis, documentation, RMA evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will do:

- Assist engineers with manufacturing and process improvement projects

- Perform Returned Material Authorization (RMA) evaluations, including inspection of returned products, documentation of findings, failure analysis, and support of corrective action activities.

- Collect, organize, and analyze production and quality data.

- Support the development and maintenance of work instructions, setup sheets, process documentation, and engineering records.

- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

- Assist with equipment validation, testing, and troubleshooting.

- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify productivity and efficiency improvements.

- Assist with tooling, fixture, and machine improvement projects.

- Assist in investigating customer complaints and internal quality issues by gathering data, documenting observations, and supporting root cause analysis efforts.

- Support new product introductions and engineering change implementation activities.

- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

What we are looking for:

- Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.

- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor.

- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

- Ability to safely use standard office and manufacturing equipment.
