About this role

At Sonos we want to create the ultimate listening experience for our customers and know that it starts by listening to each other. As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.

This role can be done from home

Building the world’s leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That’s why we’ve been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices around the globe. This role can be done from any of our offices across the United States remotely from home. It’s about impact, not location.

A Sonos Americas Trainer is responsible for bringing educational moments to life for partners across both the Professional and Retail channels. This role will flex between audiences and business needs, delivering technical, product, and sales education to professional installers, retail employees, business owners, and other Sonos partners. Members of the Sonos Global Training & Education Team embody all of Sonos’ behaviors, Respect, Collaboration, Transparency, and Ownership.

What You’ll Do:

- Adapt technical depth, messaging, and delivery style based on the audience, channel, and desired business outcome.
- Work closely with both the Americas Professional and Retail Sales teams to use education as a way to drive confidence, advocacy, and sales.
- Identify learning opportunities that can improve the Professional installation experience and strengthen the Retail customer experience.
- Partner with the content team by sharing field feedback, audience needs, common questions, and opportunities for future training.
- Develop and maintain expertise in Sonos hardware, software, networking, home theater, installation practices, product demonstrations, and customer use cases.
- Independently prepare for and deliver assigned training programs while managing communication, timelines, and post-event follow-up.
- Communicate with partners outside of formal training events to answer questions and clarify key topics.
- Stay current on consumer electronics, professional AV, retail trends, and technologies that complement or compete with Sonos.
- Continually practice presentation and facilitation skills to maintain training performance at a high level.
- Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to make Sonos training some of the most enjoyable and valuable educational experiences in the industry.

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications

- At least 3-5 years of experience in the professional AV, consumer electronics retail, sales, installation, technical education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience, and success with enthusiastic public speaking and on-camera presentations to both small and large audiences.
- Experience explaining technical and product information clearly while adapting to different audience needs.
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of assigned training programs.
- Language fluency in English.
- The ability to travel throughout North America for partner trainings and events, with occasional international travel based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

- 1-3 years of experience in the technical education field
- Experience supporting Professional AV, consumer electronics Retail, or both, with the ability to translate knowledge between technical and sales-focused audiences.
