As a Supervisor in the Electrical Engineering department, you’ll be integral to our collaborative, cross-functional teams that are committed to innovation, integrity, and strong execution. In this role, you will conduct and support performance and functional tests on flight hardware, including electronic boards, boxes, and subsystems during all phases of the hardware evolution process. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all systems meet performance standards, contributing to mission success.

What You’ll Do:
In this position you will supervise a team of development test technicians, charging 25% of your time to the programs and 75% indirect for management responsibilities.
- As a supervisor: Work with department management to determine staffing requirements. Assign staff to support department work requirements.
- Regularly direct the work of 10 or more regular, full-time employees.
- Have the authority to suggest and recommend the hiring, discipline, advancement, or status change of other employees.
- Write and conduct performance appraisals.
- Ensure tasks are completed according to departmental requirements and schedules.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and receive the supervision and direction needed to accomplish their work assignments in an efficient and cost-effective manner while observing all applicable work rules, safety rules, department directives, and company policies.
- Conceive, develop, and implement solutions to specific departmental problems.
- Prepare and maintain required records and reports in accordance with BAE Systems policies and government regulations.
- May develop, prepare and/or track departmental budget expenditures and be accountable for overhead and operational budgets.
- May supervise the implementation of new policies or procedures.
- Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
- Provide technical expertise to programs and to direct reports during product assembly and other various hardware related tasks.
- As a technician: Lead box-level integration, PWA testing, and ESTE/GSE certifications.
- Conduct environmental testing, including vibration, thermal, and TVAC.
- Perform power-on checks, operational systems validation, post-delivery activities, and complex rack configuration changes.
- Execute detailed test procedures and component-level troubleshooting.
- Act as a test conductor using software scripts to command hardware and monitor telemetry.
- Utilize DMMs and Cirris testers for cable assembly continuity and verification.
- Fabricate and rework flight/EDU hardware (PWAs, cables, chassis, and rack assemblies) per IPC/WHMA-A-610/620 Space Addendums and J-STD-001.
- Interpret complex electrical schematics, wire lists, and engineering drawings; document "red line" changes accurately.
- Ensure strict adherence to ESD, safety, tool control, and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) protocols.
- Measure and record test data, identifying and reporting out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Manage assignments with high efficiency, balancing cost, schedule, and hardware manufacturability.
- Generate detailed daily/weekly status updates regarding accomplishments, roadblocks, and completion timelines.
- Foster productive working relationships across Strategic Business Units and the Company to maintain a professional work environment.
- Perform installation and troubleshooting of test cables with minimum supervision.
- Troubleshoot hardware or assemblies; check and modify chambers or fixtures.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels, meet regularly with customers, and provide leadership to internal groups and teams.
- Exceptional communication skills for interaction with all levels of program personnel and management.
- Demonstrated understanding of process and process compliance and the ability to participate in process audits and corrective actions.
- Expert proficiency with DMMs, digital oscilloscopes, function generators, and programmable power supplies.
- Solid theoretical understanding of analog, digital, power, and FPGA electronics.
- Proficiency in fabricating and reworking hardware (cables, chassis, 19” racks, test aids) in production or development settings.
- Experience with flight hardware handling and aerospace assembly standards.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including laboratories, cleanrooms, and production floors.
- Experience in environmental testing, including Thermal, Vibration, EMI, and other relevant tests.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Self-starter, ambitious, and conscientious very high attention to detail.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Aerospace or space industry experience, preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79365 - $134921

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
