Course: Historical Apologetics Theory and Practice

This course focuses on the history and practice of Christian apologetics from the early Church to present day. It examines influential figures from the early church, the Reformation, and the modern era. The course then explores contemporary apologetics and strategies, including classical, evidentialist, presuppositional, and fideistic approaches. In addition, the course addresses contemporary challenges, providing a holistic understanding of both historical and current apologetic practices.

What You Will Do:

- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions

- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics

- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom

- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

- Masters in Apologetics or Masters in Philosophy (PhD preferred) or Master of Divinity with coursework in apologetics or philosophy from an accredited college or university AND 2 or more years of professional experience teaching apologetics, philosophy or ethics at the postsecondary level.
