Course: Contemporary Apologetics Theory and Practice

This course equips students to defend and champion the Christian faith by introducing them to the origins and development of major schools of thought and worldview commitments in the contemporary cultural context. Students will investigate major modern and postmodern ideas and discover how these have shaped contemporary Western assumptions about the nature of human beings. Students will also discover how Christian apologists historically have defended the Christian worldview against alternatives antithetical to Christianity. Students will also develop appropriate Christian responses to contemporary cultural trends opposed to the Christian faith.

What You Will Do:

- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions

- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics

- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom

- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

- Masters in Apologetics or Masters in Philosophy (PhD preferred) or Master of Divinity with coursework in apologetics or philosophy from an accredited college or university AND 2 or more years of professional experience teaching apologetics, philosophy or ethics at the postsecondary level.
