Receiving Lead

Compensation : $60,000 - $75,000

Location: Aurora, CO (this role is 100% onsite )

Great receiving teams do more than unload trucks. They keep projects moving.

As our Receiving Lead , you'll provide day-to-day direction to the receiving crew and make sure materials are received, inspected, documented, stored, staged, and moved safely and accurately. You'll coordinate daily priorities, assign work based on operational needs and employee qualifications, and keep materials moving where they need to go—on time and in the right condition.

You'll work closely with supervisors, craft personnel, and Quality Control, particularly when handling controlled materials. You'll also play a key role in training new employees, building a culture of accountability, and making sure every task is completed safely and to RK's standards.

What You'll Lead

- Plan, prioritize, and assign daily receiving, off-loading, put-away, staging, and shipping activities.
- Coordinate the safe receipt and off-loading of controlled materials with craft personnel and Quality Control.
- Verify incoming materials against work orders and shipping documents; identify and report damage, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Ensure materials are safely handled, stored, moved, and shipped in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Operate approved material-handling equipment, including forklifts, hoists, conveyors, and hand trucks.
- Maintain accurate and timely receiving, shipping, inventory, and material-location records.
- Coordinate return-to-vendor shipments and other assigned material movements.
- Monitor crew safety, productivity, work quality, and task completion; adjust assignments and escalate concerns when needed.
- Train and coach employees on job duties, equipment operation, documentation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and promptly report safety, equipment, or operational concerns.
- Champion RK's safety culture and empower team members to stop work when an unsafe condition is present.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.

What You Bring

- High school diploma or GED. Required.
- Three years of experience in warehouse, receiving, shipping, inventory, or material handling.
- One year of experience in a lead, trainer, or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of receiving, inventory control, material handling, and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and shipping documents, maintain accurate records, and resolve routine discrepancies.
- Basic computer, math, communication, and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction to a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety, accuracy, and productivity.
- Reliable transportation is required for commuting and occasional travel between local corporate offices and job sites during business hours.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including dusty, loud, hot, cold, or potentially hazardous areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, climb, and perform other physically demanding tasks as required.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in other challenging physical locations when required by the task.
- Consistent, punctual attendance during core business hours is essential.
