About this role

The Center for Carbon Transition (CCT) serves as the firm's center of excellence on the low-carbon transition, helping clients and internal stakeholders navigate evolving decarbonization, energy, and sustainability opportunities and challenges. The CCT team leads the development and management of the firmwide portfolio-level carbon intensity targets, green financing goal, and Energy Supply Financing Ratio (ESFR) and related client engagement. In this role, the team provides transition insights for senior leadership and our banking partners and clients.

As an Analyst in the Center for Carbon Transition, you will use your experience to support the broader mandate of CCT in advising the firm on the energy transition outlook while building your own decarbonization / transition expertise and you will be a self-starter with a strong analytical/quantitative base and excellent attention to detail, working closely with the New York, Washington DC and London-based CCT team and interfacing with internal colleagues across the firm as well as with clients.

Job Responsibilities

- Support the development and implementation of the Firm’s strategy to align, over time, its financing portfolio with net zero emissions by 2050
- Stay close to evolving client transition and decarbonization plans, translating developments into timely engagement opportunities
- Support client engagement (e.g., meetings, events, content), using transition insights to shape meeting objectives, attendee strategy, and next steps
- Support and own elements of quantitative client and portfolio carbon analytics, assessing carbon performance at both the individual transaction level and across industry portfolios
- Translate quantitative and qualitative outputs into executive-ready recommendations for stakeholder engagement and senior forums
- Conduct thematic deep dives into decarbonization solutions, such as financing structures, sector trends, and market development opportunities

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

- University degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, energy / environmental economics, sustainability)
- 1+ years of experience in a relevant energy / decarbonization / sustainability / climate role
- Ability to convey information clearly, accurately and succinctly (both written and verbally)
- Excellent analytical skills (including proficiency in Excel, working with large datasets and third-party data sources) and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and self-starter mindset
- Demonstrated interest in energy, climate and decarbonization themes

Preferred qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to independently structure and execute complex analytical workstreams, synthesize findings, and communicate actionable recommendations
- Subject matter expertise in key energy transition and decarbonization topics
- Understanding of banking products
- Understanding of carbon accounting concepts and practical application to corporates (scopes, boundaries, data limitations, and interpretability)
