General Department Description
Global Transaction Banking Division Americas provides transaction banking solutions across payments and collections, cash and liquidity management, trade finance, supply chain finance, commercial card, receivables finance, and related treasury capabilities. The division serves corporate clients across the Americas and works closely with Coverage, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Mizuho’s global network.
Summary
The Associate, GTB Advisory supports the Director, GTB Advisory in translating client needs, market intelligence and strategic priorities into actionable product, commercial and organizational outcomes. The role conducts research and analysis, prepares executive and client materials, supports complex transaction-banking solutions and strategic opportunities, and coordinates deliverables across Product, Sales, Coverage, Operations, Technology, Risk and other control partners. Through disciplined execution, accurate reporting and structured stakeholder follow-up, the role strengthens the division’s advisory capability, commercialization agenda and delivery of strategic transformation priorities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Research and Analysis: Conduct market, competitor and industry research across cash management, payments, liquidity, trade finance, working capital, treasury technology, APIs, digital assets, emerging automation capabilities and relevant fintech developments; synthesize findings into concise briefings, business cases and recommendations for Product and division leadership.
- Client, Product and Commercial Support: Support senior advisory colleagues in client meetings, treasury reviews, strategic opportunities and RFPs; analyze client feedback and needs; prepare tailored presentations and solution materials; and provide Product and Sales teams with evidence to assess enhancements, commercialization priorities and cross-product opportunities.
- Complex Solution and Stakeholder Coordination: Gather and organize inputs from Product, Sales, Coverage, Operations, Technology, Credit, Risk, Compliance and Legal; perform supporting analysis; maintain action logs and implementation dependencies; and escalate gaps or blockers promptly to the Director, GTB Advisory.
- Reporting, Data Quality and Controls: Maintain accurate client-feedback repositories, opportunity analyses, initiative trackers, supporting records and management materials; follow applicable confidentiality, documentation, approval, records-management and control requirements; and correct or escalate data quality and control exceptions within agreed timelines.
- Strategic Initiatives and Knowledge Sharing: Support assigned strategic and enterprise initiatives through research, workplan tracking, governance materials and follow-up; document reusable insights, solution frameworks, templates and playbooks; and contribute to team training and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Cross-Functional Development: Participate actively in cross-functional assignments by maintaining visibility of capacity and deadlines, completing work across relevant products, clients, analyses, presentations, and strategic initiatives, escalating workload conflicts promptly, and seeking structured feedback after significant assignments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, international affairs, data analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
- Professional Experience: Two to six years of relevant experience in transaction banking, treasury services, consulting, corporate or commercial banking, financial-services strategy, analytics, product management, or a related client-facing function.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of transaction banking and corporate treasury concepts, with the ability to develop expertise across cash management, payments, liquidity, deposits, trade finance, working capital, and treasury technology; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Skills: Strong analytical thinking, structured problem solving, written and verbal communication, presentation development, attention to detail, organization, and collaboration.
- Language: English required. Japanese is preferred; Spanish, Portuguese, French, or another language relevant to the Americas client base is a plus.
- Travel: Ability to travel as required for client meetings, industry events, and business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting client-facing, product, strategy or consulting teams in a global financial institution;
exposure to strategic planning, competitive intelligence, product commercialization, complex solution
development or executive communications; familiarity with Japanese and non-Japanese multinational clients;
and a relevant advanced degree or professional credential.
Work Location
In-office presence is an essential function of this role, and this role requires work from the office five days per
week. Remote work may be used on an as-needed and ad hoc basis in accordance with applicable Banking
policies.

The expected base salary ranges from $93,000 - $140,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
