About this role

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at Apex Vascular in Dannaher, TN.

Responsibilities & Duties:

- Assists healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.

- Records patient histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information in medical records.

- Prepares and maintains examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.

- Schedules patient appointments and manages front desk operations.

- Processes patient intake forms and insurance documentation.

- Administers medications and injections as directed by physicians.

- Performs basic laboratory tests and assists with sample collection.

- Performs chart preparation as required.

- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.

- Provides patient education and support, answering questions about treatments and procedures.

- Assists in maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment.

- When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.

- Provides support to nursing staff as required.

- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.

- Follows processes and policies for the organization.

- Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- A High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

- One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience, or recent graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program with completion of program externship.

- Current Medical Assistant certification, where required by the practice or state of employment. Where required, certification must be obtained within the timeframe established by the practice.

- Must have experience in administration of EKGs.

- Current valid state drivers license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.

- Cardiology practice experience preferred but not required
