What You'll Do
You will lead end-to-end accounting processes and serve as the primary liaison between corporate headquarters and field accountants for a portfolio of sites. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional groups for budget and forecast development, performing variance analyses and financial data reviews, and executing key internal controls. The role also involves preparing and reviewing journal entries, managing special projects, and supporting audits with external auditors.
Essential Functions
- Lead various accounting processes from initiation to completion for assigned areas.
- Serve as the main point of contact between corporate headquarters and field accountants for multiple sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze and format large amounts of financial data to perform variance analyses and problem-solving.
- Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of monthly balance sheet accounts.
- Execute key internal controls and support external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and manage special projects including technical accounting research and integration of newly acquired facilities.
- Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
What Experience and Education You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience required.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
- Ability to perform variance analyses and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
What Could Set You Apart
- Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
- CPA certification or CPA track preferred.
- Experience with Oracle preferred.
- Big 4 or Tier 2 audit experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a high-volume and changing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
- Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
- Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.
- May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
- May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
- May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
