The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for the research, testing, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of security products and services supported by effective change management. Responsibilities include cloud security and cloud risk management. Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and databases. Conducts password audits, network based and web application-based vulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection. Manages risk audits and assessments and provides recommendations for application design. Monitors and analyzes system access logs. Plans for security backup and system disaster recovery. Manages projects/processes, coaches, and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.

Responsibilities:

- Researches, tests, implements, optimizes, and maintains new security products and services to address future and current threats supported by effective change management. Defines security controls and best practices.
- Develops, maintains, and supports processes to support the IT Security Framework such as incident management, cloud risk management, and cloud security.
- Acts as an escalation path to Security issues and leads forensic investigations.
- Identifies and investigates actual or potential information security violations. Performs follow up investigations with written reports and root cause analysis.
- Participates in application and infrastructure projects to provide security planning and implementation.
- Develops dashboards and metrics that includes incident reporting and risk management reporting.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, and/or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in IT Security
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in Cloud Technologies
- Experience in managing SIEM solutions
- Experience in endpoint and email security solutions
- Experience in Security incident management and reporting
- Advanced knowledge of networking/web, phishing/cyberattacks, and incident response
- CISSP, SecurityX (CASP+), or GCIH preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong time and ticket management skills
- Must be able to meet multiple deadlines
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgement
- Must be able to implement process improvement changes
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to pay close attention to details
- Must be able to adapt and be flexible to a changing environment

Compensation
The anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $105,322.00 to $131,652.00 Annually. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.

Additional Compensation
This position is eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus.
