Job Title: Electrical Designer Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to develop electrical construction documents, produce design drawings, and support engineering efforts for a variety of commercial, healthcare, and semiconductor projects. In this role, you will use Revit and AutoCAD to create high-quality designs that comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standards, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical design and construction documents under the direction of licensed engineers and project managers.
- Prepare layouts for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and low-voltage systems for commercial, healthcare, and semiconductor facilities.
- Create and modify electrical plans, schedules, details, riser diagrams, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Interpret architectural, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings to ensure proper coordination between disciplines.
- Review project specifications and incorporate all applicable requirements into design documents.
- Apply NEC requirements and industry standards to produce code-compliant electrical designs.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal design teams throughout project development.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field investigations as needed to gather information and verify design conditions.
- Assist with construction administration activities, including reviewing RFIs, submittals, and resolving field issues.
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within established deadlines.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design within the consulting engineering, architectural, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical design principles.
- Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Understanding of power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
- Experience creating schematic diagrams and lighting layouts.
- Ability to coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality design documents.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting healthcare facility projects is preferred.
- Experience supporting semiconductor facility projects is preferred.
- Experience with fire alarm, telecommunications, and other low-voltage system design.
- Background in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline is beneficial.
- Familiarity with construction administration processes, including RFIs, submittals, and field issue resolution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with on-site work required on Tuesdays and Thursdays and remote work available on other days. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday with 9-hour days, featuring a flexible start time between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and half days on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You will work with modern design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD in a professional, team-oriented environment focused on high-quality project delivery. The organization provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance covered at 100% for the employee, with the option to add dependents via payroll deductions. Paid Time Off is accrued at approximately 16 days per year, along with 40 hours of paid sick time and 9 paid holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. A SIMPLE IRA retirement plan is available with an employer match of up to 3% of salary deductions once you have earned $5,000 in a calendar year. All benefits become available after 30 days of employment, supporting a balanced and sustainable work-life experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
