We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the development of critical subsystems and technologies supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role will establish and grow a core engineering capability that enables technology innovation, product development, and execution across a portfolio of electrochemical deposition (ECD) products. The successful candidate will provide both technical and organizational leadership, driving strategic engineering programs while building a high-performing team. Working closely with global product and engineering teams, this leader will execute product development initiatives and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer and business needs. This position requires a strong understanding of semiconductor capital equipment development, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to translate business and product requirements into effective technical solutions. The Engineering Manager will play a key role in strengthening engineering capability, accelerating product development, and advancing strategic technology programs.

## What you’ll do
Technical and Program Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and engineering direction for critical mechanical, fluid delivery, and process subsystems supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Lead programs from requirements and concept development through design, qualification, and release.
- Make timely technical decisions and guide design reviews, testing, root-cause investigations, and risk mitigation.
- Establish program scope, resources, milestones, and priorities, ensuring delivery against stakeholder commitments.
- Partner with global product and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, align execution, and communicate progress and key risks.
People Leadership & Capability Development
- Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on critical product and technology development.
- Create an environment that promotes accountability, innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration.
- Mentor engineers, while supporting career growth and capability development.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent to support business growth and expanding product development responsibilities.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with global product and engineering teams, including key stakeholders based in Oregon, USA, to align execution priorities and long-term technology strategy.
- Foster effective collaboration across global teams, functions, and sites.
- Represent the engineering organization and provide technical leadership in product reviews, design reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
Who we’re looking for
Education
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field with significant industry experience will also be considered.
Required Experience
- Proven leadership experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a related high-technology product development environment.
- Strong technical foundation in mechanical, electrical, materials, chemical, or process engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated success leading complex product development programs from concept through qualification and release.
- Experience managing engineering teams, developing talent, and building organizational capability.
- Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely, data-driven technical decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global and cross-functional organizations.
- Experience balancing technical, schedule, quality, and business objectives in a fast-paced development environment.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
