Join the Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Inventory Management Team in reshaping the future of grocery shopping for our customers. Amazon's grocery business is transforming the shopping experience through innovative retail formats, and we are seeking Instock Managers and Demand Planners to play a critical role in ensuring customers find the products they want, when they want them.

Amazon's grocery business has experienced remarkable growth, with groceries becoming some of our most frequently purchased items alongside everyday essentials. We've expanded same-day delivery for fresh groceries to over 2,300 U.S. cities, with perishable items like fruits and vegetables leading customer demand. This is a fast-paced and quickly expanding business where you can be part of building new processes and automation daily.

As a member of the WWGS Inventory Management Team, you will be responsible for inventory management and demand planning for categories and sites within our grocery business. Your analytical prowess will help identify opportunities for improvements, implement scalable systems, and drive automation to enhance efficiency with a particular focus on optimizing the physical flow of products within the supply chain network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Category, Operations, Supply Chain, Product, Finance, and more. Your impact will be visible, ongoing, and contribute directly to our commitment to being the most customer-centric company on earth.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage inventory availability and health through buying strategies, vendor operational improvements (fill rates, on-time delivery, lead time), forecasting, and shrink reduction.
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for assigned product categories, analyzing sales trends, seasonality, and promotional impacts to optimize inventory levels.
- Partner with internal teams to develop tools, automation, and process improvements that affect purchasing and vendor management workflows.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and communicate supply-demand imbalances proactively, implementing corrective actions.
- Deep dive instock performance to develop insights and represent this perspective in discussions with stakeholders across the organization.
- Create reports and dashboards to communicate inventory performance and track key performance metrics.
- Collaborate with category teams to understand product assortment and seasonal needs.
- Escalate roadblocks and risks appropriately while applying best practices in supply chain management.
- Exhibit Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to fulfillment centers, stores, and vendor locations.

A day in the life
In your day-to-day role, you'll be responsible for the supply chain and inventory management for your assigned categories/sites. You'll continuously deliver results while creating new processes for improvement. You'll analyze data to optimize inventory levels, work with vendors on operational improvements, and partner with internal teams on automation initiatives. You'll also lead cross-functional initiatives that improve customer experience and enable new capabilities for our business, requiring you to pivot based on new challenges and learning.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- 2+ years of with Excel experience
- Experience using data analysis, reporting, and forecasting to guide business decisions and solve problems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in business, operations, logistics, supply chain or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of demand planning and forecasting experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, or experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
- Knowledge of Excel at an advanced level (pivots, lookups, etc.)
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Python.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
