Job Summary
Senior-level technical contributor with expertise across multiple major areas of corporate infrastructure. This role serves as the lead technical contributor and subject matter expert for assigned areas of responsibility and provides final-level support and consulting escalation.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Accountable for assigned infrastructure, including design, operations, maintenance, support, and documentation.
- Supervise the work of team members related to assigned infrastructure or projects to ensure adherence to best practices and on-time delivery.
- Lead and complete large projects within established scope and timelines.
- Provide infrastructure architecture consulting for assigned projects.
- Develop infrastructure automation code and supporting documentation.
- Provide infrastructure support for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Manage team members to ensure project work is completed on time and on task.
- Manage vendor relationships, including internet service providers, venue IT departments, network vendors, and Meetings Technical Services contractors.
- Engage directly with internal and external stakeholders regarding areas of expertise.
- Direct the development, monitoring, and maintenance of the meetings network operations budget.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

- Expertise in network engineering, including OSPF, BGP, and fault-tolerant network designs.
- Expertise with Juniper routers, switches, and SRX appliances.
- Expertise in wireless network design and high-capacity deployments.
- Expertise in highly available systems design.
- Experience creating standards documentation and governance practices.
- Experience with business process design and implementation.
- Advanced Linux/Unix infrastructure administration expertise.
- Technical project management experience.
- Scripting expertise in Perl, Shell, or Python.
- Experience with software engineering, data structures, and design patterns.
- Advanced knowledge of network addressing, Internet protocols, and DNS.
- Expertise in infrastructure administration best practices.
- Strong Windows and Active Directory infrastructure administration skills.
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience with network storage.
- Experience with object storage.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 10 years of related experience.
- Prior experience working for an international organization is strongly preferred.
- Experience with open-source software is required.
Languages
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- International travel may be required to support ICANN-related meetings, typically for 14–16 days per trip, approximately three times per year, and likely across different continents.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, or as required.
- Ability to travel globally without restrictions, frequently with limited notice.
- Ability to provide or facilitate 24-hour support during emergency outages or related situations at ICANN-related meetings.
- Ability to provide or facilitate on-call support during non-meeting hours at ICANN-related meetings.
- Ability to support ICANN events, including webinars and hybrid meetings.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
