About this role

# Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Testing & Validation (T&V) Lead to define the standard for how we build, test, and ship control software for new Aeroderivate gas turbine units. In this role, you will be the architect of our verification and validation (V&V) ecosystem, responsible for establishing the processes, documentation standards, and rigorous testing frameworks for our control software and HMI interfaces. You will serve as the technical authority for T&V best practices, driving a culture of "quality-first" engineering and ensuring that lessons learned are institutionalized across our development lifecycle.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

- Process Architecture: Design and implement robust T&V processes that ensure high-reliability performance of control software and HMI screens. Define the "Definition of Done" for site-specific software releases.
- Test Strategy & Automation: Champion the transition from manual, legacy testing workflows toward modern, automated, and scalable validation frameworks.
- Documentation Excellence: Author and govern the technical documentation suite for V&V, ensuring compliance with internal engineering standards and safety-critical industry requirements.
- Knowledge Management: Serve as the organization’s "Focal Point" for T&V best practices. Analyze field issues and integration failures to lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and convert these findings into improved test coverage and future-state design improvements.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with NPI (New Product Introduction), ITR (Order-to-Remittance), and systems engineering teams to ensure testing requirements are baked into the early stages of the product lifecycle (Shift-Left testing approach).

Required Qualifications

- This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Controls Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree (Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Control or related Engineering field) from an accredited university.
- Proved experience in Aeroderivative Control System technologies
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Medium to Strong knowledge of Agile methodology

Desired Characteristics

- Systemic Thinker: You don't just find bugs; you find the systemic process failures that allowed the bugs to exist.
- Developer Advocate: You have the ability to influence software developers to prioritize testability in their code, fostering a collaborative, non-punitive quality culture.
- Data-Driven: You use metrics (e.g., defect leakage, test coverage, mean time to detect, FPY%) to drive process improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: You view "lessons learned“ and “defects” not as a meeting, but as a mechanism to iterate on your own processes.
