About this role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex construction projects within a fast-paced, highly technical semiconductor manufacturing environment in Santa Clara, CA. This role is ideal for a Project Engineer who excels on the project administration, documentation, and coordination side of construction management . The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining project controls, managing documentation workflows, supporting subcontractor coordination, and ensuring project teams have the information necessary to execute work efficiently. The environment is demanding, schedule-driven, and requires an individual who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, drawing logs, and closeout documentation.
- Track and coordinate document control processes to ensure timely review and distribution of project information.
- Support project managers and superintendents with administrative and operational project needs.
- Assist in subcontractor management, including procurement support, compliance tracking, and coordination of deliverables.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to identify potential issues and facilitate resolutions.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to project status, schedule updates, cost tracking, and procurement activities.
- Coordinate with owners, design teams, trade partners, and field personnel to facilitate project execution.
- Assist with budget tracking, change management processes, and forecasting activities.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate records of discussions, action items, and decisions.
- Support quality control and project closeout processes, including punch list management and turnover documentation.
- Ensure all project records are maintained in accordance with company and client standards.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar construction management role.
- Strong experience managing construction paperwork, project documentation, and project controls processes.
- Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, advanced technology, healthcare, life sciences, or mission-critical construction projects.
- Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, schedules, and document management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common construction management software platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working on semiconductor, technology, manufacturing, data center, or other highly regulated construction projects.
- Previous experience supporting projects on occupied or active industrial campuses.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of construction scheduling, procurement, and cost management processes.
- Experience working directly with owners, trade partners, and design consultants in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
