About this role

This position serves as the Community Schools Team Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County in support of the Fort Drum Regional Full-Service Community Schools Consortium. The position will provide program and administrative direction, management, and coordination for all aspects of this program including overall supervision of the Community Schools Coordinators assigned to Belleville Henderson, LaFargeville, and Sackets Harbor Central School Districts. Working from the CCE Jefferson office and maintaining a regular presence in all participating schools, the Team Coordinator provides consortium-wide leadership. The position is responsible for advancing consortium goals; coordinating implementation of grant objectives; reporting, evaluation, and shared systems; promoting consistent, high-quality implementation across districts; and strengthening collaboration among schools, families, community organizations, the New York State Community Schools Technical Assistance Center, and regional partners. The Team Coordinator will provide educational program leadership and direct program delivery as needed while maintaining primary responsibility for staff supervision, consortium coordination, program quality, accountability, and sustainability.

POSITION DETAILS:

This position is a full-time non-exempt position, 40 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $26.75. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.

POSITION INFORMATION:

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (Associate's Degree and 2 years experience).
- Experience relevant to program coordination, staff supervision, school-community partnerships, youth development, family engagement, or grant-funded programming.
- Valid NYS Driver's License and the ability to meet the travel requirements associated with this position, including frequent travel among participating school districts.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, or leading staff and supporting professional growth and accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-partner or multi-site initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with school leaders, families, community organizations, and regional partners.
- Demonstrated experience with grant implementation, budget monitoring, data collection, evaluation, and reporting.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Program Responsibilities:

Program Delivery, Evaluation and Applied Research - 30%

- Provide and evaluate educational programming as defined in the grant application, including direct delivery when needed for staff coverage, program launch, quality assurance, or consortium-wide activities.
- Apply Community Schools, positive youth development, family engagement, college and career readiness, and out-of-school-time subject matter knowledge when supporting educational strategies across participating districts.
- Research, identify, review, and adapt educational resources and program materials to address participant needs and support quality, accessibility, and alignment with CCE and grant expectations.
- Coordinate implementation of the established program evaluation framework across districts, including consistent data collection and collaboration with Community Schools Coordinators, school and grant partners, and the outside evaluator to analyze findings, identify program improvements, and communicate results to appropriate audiences.
- Coordinate with the Youth and Family Program area to align Community Schools programming with available CCE and Cornell resources and established program goals.
- Model and support appropriate delivery methods for engaging families and helping parents and caregivers support student learning.
- Promote welcoming, culturally responsive, inclusive, and accessible program environments for students and families.
- Support coordinators in strengthening parent and family participation in school and Community Schools activities.
- Represent CCE on appropriate consortium, advisory, district, and regional teams related to program delivery, evaluation, and improvement.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Direction and Management - 20%

- Plan educational programming as defined in the grant application.
- Ensure research and evidence-based programs are implemented with fidelity and remain within the scope of the statewide and Association Plan of Work.
- Plan and support consortium-wide workshops, family engagement activities, student opportunities, and educational events that strengthen connections among schools, families, and community partners.
- Provide direct supervision to the Community Schools Coordinators, including onboarding, work planning, regular individual and team meetings, coaching, performance observations and feedback, professional development, and annual performance reviews in accordance with CCE policies and procedures.
- Establish clear expectations and priorities; assign and review work; monitor staff schedules and progress; coordinate coverage; and support staff in responding to the needs of their assigned districts.
- Ensure Community Schools Coordinators receive the training, resources, and guidance needed to implement assigned curricula, grant activities, documentation, and evaluation requirements consistently and with fidelity.
- Provide information and recommendations for development of the CCE Community Schools project budget and monitor income, expenses, mileage, purchasing, materials, and staffing allocations in coordination with the supervisor and Association finance staff.
- Identify and pursue appropriate resource-development and sustainability opportunities in consultation with CCE leadership.
- Ensure that CCE's mission and research-based educational approach are acknowledged and reflected in work with participating schools and partners.
- Provide administrative guidance for established program goals, work plans, timelines, deliverables, reporting requirements, and grant expectations.
- Guide consortium communication strategies and ensure timely communication with staff, districts, partners, and CCE leadership.

Coordination/Operation - 45%

- Maintain a regular presence in participating schools to observe programming, understand needs, provide guidance, and support staff and partners.
- Coordinate CCE Community Schools implementation across Belleville Henderson, LaFargeville, and Sackets Harbor Central School Districts.
- Develop and maintain a regular schedule for school visits, staff supervision, partner meetings, consortium activities, and required reporting.
- Organize and coordinate cross-district Community Schools initiatives, shared professional development, family engagement activities, and student opportunities.
- Coordinate administrative operations including purchasing, inventory, materials, shared calendars, documentation, outreach, and end-of-year and grant-closeout tasks.
- Coordinate effective outreach and marketing strategies for consortium and district activities using approved print, school, news, social, and multimedia channels.
- Develop and coordinate program updates, success stories, recognition, and information for students, families, partners, and CCE audiences.
- Coordinate with the New York State Community Schools Technical Assistance Center and Cornell partners to align resources, strengthen implementation, and support professional development.
- Travel frequently among the CCE Jefferson office, participating school districts, partner locations, meetings, and professional development activities and transport program materials and resources as needed.

Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%

- In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Deputy Executive Director jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
- Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.

- Support the association to maintain a safe working environment.
- Be familiar and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.
