Position: Fitter/Fabricator
Location/s: Ashland, VA
Duration: 3 months contract to hire
Shift: 1st Shift Schedule (offering work-life balance with Saturdays as needed)
Pay Rate: Up to $25.00/Hour (Depending on experience)

Qualdoc is seeking experienced Flux Core Welders and Welder/Fitters for our client in Ashland, VA. This role will be responsible for welding heavy industrial structural steel equipment and components using shop drawings for fabrication. This position is a contract with the potential to go full-time based on performance and business needs.
Overtime!!!! 50-56 hours weekly!!
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and fit components according to shop drawings and specifications.
- Perform high-quality Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) .
- Read and interpret shop drawings and AWS weld symbols.
- Produce welds that meet or exceed AWS D1.1 and D14.1 standards.
- Pass a full-penetration vertical weld test and overhead fillet weld test .
- Work safely in a heavy industrial environment.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Work 10-hour shifts and Saturdays as required.
- Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fitter/Fabricator or in a similar industrial role.
- Ability to read shop drawings and interpret welding symbols.
- Experience with FCAW welding.
- Ability to pass the required welding tests.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
