Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing a consistent management presence for the store. Their primary focus is sustaining a high level of performance in all aspects of established store operation. Particular attention is paid to creating and maintaining a close, open, and supportive relationship between management and the store’s staff, and always addressing the customer’s best interests. This position is designed as a supplement to the Store Manager, echoing their responsibilities and duties, as well as extending the overall management presence in the store. All job duties are performed with a team mindset while working within company policy and procedures.

Areas of Focus:

At the Bookmans Speedway location there are two (2) Assistant Managers. Their roles are specified by two (2) distinct "areas of focus": 1) Human Resources, 2) Merchandise. Each Assistant Manager will be responsible for an "area of focus" for twelve (12) months, then exchange thier "area of focus" with their colleague for the subsequent twelve (12) months (or as determined by the President).

This position is exempt, and reports to the Store Manager.

Job Requirements:

Must have excellent speaking, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead the team by providing training, coaching, and feedback to staff. The successful candidate will have strong proactive problem-solving skills and be able to mediate disagreements, de-escalate situations and always provide excellent customer service. Must be a discreet, approachable, and dependable individual who has excellent customer service skills and can handle difficult customer interactions.

This is a full-time position (must have Open Availability to work various days/shifts, as business needs dictate.)
