About this role

Meta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel on Meta's product counseling team. The position will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal product, operations, and business teams in order to identify and mitigate global legal risk, primarily in connection with Meta's Business Agents - Paid Messaging. The role sits at the intersection of product and privacy, working closely with other legal department subgroups and requiring the creation and application of legal frameworks to new and innovative products and services. Responsibilities

Analyze products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
Provide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across many subject areas including data protection laws and regulations, international competition law frameworks, intellectual property laws, and other global legal frameworks
Help drive consensus and coordinate with public policy, partnerships, communications and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issues
Work cross-functionally with attorneys from other legal teams such as privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation
Support privacy and data protection compliance initiatives as they relate to Business Agents - Paid Messaging products

Qualifications

J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (including at a law firm or in-house experience)
Experience working independently and cross-functionally
Experience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms
Experience working with enterprise tools, developer platforms, messaging services or other Internet technologies
In-house experience at a technology company
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Business judgment and client counseling experience
Experience in product counseling and data protection related international frameworks
