Position Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help design and deliver modern digital claims experiences for customers and associates. This role spans web, mobile, and backend development across React micro-frontends, Java-based services, GraphQL APIs, and Flutter applications.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong architectural judgment, product awareness, and collaborative leadership. You will influence engineering standards, guide cross-team technical decisions, and deliver secure, scalable, observable, and maintainable enterprise software.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver full-stack capabilities across React applications, Java services, GraphQL APIs, and Flutter applications.
- Lead technical design for features spanning micro-frontends, Backend-for-Frontend services, downstream integrations, and mobile experiences.
- Develop React and TypeScript applications using Webpack Module Federation, React Router, Redux Toolkit, and shared component libraries.
- Design and maintain Java 21 and Spring Boot services that aggregate downstream APIs into stable, user-focused contracts.
- Develop GraphQL schemas, resolvers, batch mappings, and Apollo Client integrations.
- Contribute to Flutter and Dart feature packages using Riverpod, repository-based data access, shared design systems, and reusable components.
- Apply established patterns—including facade, builder, mapper, repository, strategy, visitor, observer, factory, adapter, and rule engine—to create modular and testable solutions.
- Define clear ownership of business logic across presentation, orchestration, application, and domain layers.
- Establish resilient integration patterns for REST and GraphQL services, including error handling, caching, retries, authorization, and contract compatibility.
- Use feature flags, telemetry, and progressive delivery practices to release changes safely.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, pair programming, and constructive code reviews.
- Collaborate with product, design, architecture, security, and engineering partners to turn business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Improve engineering practices, reusable patterns, documentation, and development workflows across teams.

Required Technical Qualifications

- Significant professional experience designing and delivering full-stack applications in enterprise production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, including strong experience with React.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including dependency injection, service-layer design, API development, and downstream system integration.
- Experience designing and consuming GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Experience with micro-frontend architecture, ideally including Webpack Module Federation, independently deployable applications, runtime integration, and shared-dependency management.
- Strong knowledge of frontend state-management patterns using Redux Toolkit or comparable technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, layered architecture, and reusable software design patterns.
- Experience building automated tests with tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, JUnit, Mockito, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with containerized cloud applications, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Familiarity with Azure services such as AKS, Microsoft identity platforms, Key Vault, Redis, Cosmos DB, and Application Insights.
- Experience with observability practices, including structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and OpenTelemetry.
- Working knowledge of authentication, authorization, token management, secure coding, and protection of sensitive data.
- Experience with feature-management platforms such as LaunchDarkly or Statsig.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, source control, pull-request practices, quality gates, and automated deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Professional experience with Dart and Flutter, including Riverpod, repository-based architecture, widget testing, and shared feature packages.
- Experience working in a large, multi-team monorepo.
- Familiarity with server-driven UI and shared enterprise design systems.
- Experience developing platforms used by both internal associates and external customers.
- Knowledge of claims, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Experience designing Backend-for-Frontend services and separating command and query responsibilities.
- Experience establishing contract tests between frontend applications and backend services.
- A history of creating reusable libraries, architectural patterns, or engineering standards adopted by multiple teams.

Leadership and Professional Skills

- Technical leadership: Provides clear architectural direction while remaining hands-on in design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery.
- Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships across frontend, backend, mobile, design, product, architecture, and platform teams.
- Communication: Explains complex technical decisions clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences and documents decisions effectively.
- AI fluency: Uses AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to accelerate analysis, implementation, testing, and documentation while independently validating correctness, security, and architectural alignment.
- Product and design orientation: Considers usability, accessibility, consistency, performance, and customer impact—not only functional correctness.
- Enterprise and startup mindset: Combines rapid experimentation and incremental delivery with enterprise expectations for security, reliability, compliance, and maintainability.
- Ownership and work ethic: Takes responsibility from discovery through production support and consistently delivers high-quality work.
- Innovation: Challenges unnecessary complexity, contributes new ideas, and turns promising concepts into practical, reusable improvements.
- Mentorship: Helps other engineers strengthen their technical judgment and supports a culture of constructive feedback and continuous learning.

What Success Looks Like

- Features are designed coherently across web, mobile, and backend layers.
- Technical decisions simplify the platform and improve long-term maintainability.
- APIs and shared contracts remain stable, secure, and easy for other teams to consume.
- Releases are observable, testable, progressively delivered, and recoverable.
- Shared patterns and components reduce duplicated effort across engineering teams.
- Engineers become more effective through your mentorship and technical leadership.
- Customers and claims associates receive reliable, accessible, and intuitive digital experiences.
