The Frozen Supervisor supports the daily operation of the Frozen Department by maintaining strong in-stock conditions, proper product rotation, accurate merchandising, cleanliness, and organized inventory. This position provides day-to-day direction to associates, helps coordinate deliveries and stocking priorities, controls shrink, and ensures the department remains clean, organized, customer-ready, and operated safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

- Support the overall daily operation and performance of the Frozen Department.

- Provide direction, guidance, and support to associates working in the department.

- Help train and coach associates on stocking, rotation, merchandising, safety, cleanliness, and customer service procedures.

- Coordinate daily stocking and replenishment based on sales, deliveries, inventory levels, and business needs.

- Maintain strong in-stock conditions throughout frozen cases, doors, endcaps, and displays.

- Ensure frozen foods, ice cream, frozen meals, vegetables, desserts, and other department products are properly stocked and organized.

- Monitor product condition, packaging, dates, and overall quality throughout the department.

- Ensure proper product rotation and prioritize older inventory to reduce shrink and product loss.

- Remove expired, damaged, thawed, or otherwise unsellable merchandise promptly.

- Maintain attractive, organized, properly faced, and fully stocked displays.

- Ensure promotional, seasonal, and advertised products are properly stocked, signed, and maintained.

- Monitor out-of-stocks and take appropriate action to replenish merchandise from backstock.

- Assist with receiving, breaking down, organizing, and stocking frozen deliveries.

- Ensure frozen merchandise is moved to proper temperature-controlled storage promptly.

- Maintain organized freezers, storage areas, backstock, and department supplies.

- Assist with inventory management and communicate ordering or product availability concerns to appropriate leadership.

- Help control shrink through proper rotation, product handling, inventory management, and temperature control.

- Verify products are correctly priced, labeled, and signed.

- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service and assist customers with locating products.

- Maintain department cleanliness and ensure cases, doors, shelves, freezers, floors, storage areas, and work areas meet established standards.

- Promote safe working practices and immediately address potential hazards.

- Communicate equipment, freezer, temperature, product, staffing, or operational concerns to store leadership.

- Assist with opening and closing department responsibilities as assigned.

- Support department sales, productivity, shrink, inventory, and operational goals.

- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Customer Service

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.

- Help customers locate frozen products and identify alternatives when requested products are unavailable.

- Provide accurate information regarding product location and availability.

- Respond professionally to customer questions or concerns.

- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked cases that make the department easy to shop.

- Prioritize customer service while completing stocking and merchandising responsibilities.

- Maintain department conditions that reflect high standards for cleanliness, organization, product availability, and presentation.

Inventory, Rotation & Merchandising

- Monitor inventory and backstock levels throughout the department.

- Ensure products are properly rotated to maintain quality and minimize expired merchandise.

- Check product dates regularly and remove expired or unsellable merchandise.

- Organize freezer backstock so products can be easily identified and efficiently replenished.

- Work frozen deliveries promptly to maintain product quality and protect the cold chain.

- Minimize the amount of time frozen merchandise remains outside proper temperature-controlled environments.

- Maintain proper product placement according to department merchandising standards.

- Ensure cases and shelves remain organized, faced, stocked, and customer-ready.

- Maintain promotional and seasonal displays throughout the promotional period.

- Verify shelf tags, pricing, and signs are accurate and positioned correctly.

- Monitor fast-selling products and adjust stocking priorities as necessary.

- Support inventory and shrink-control efforts by minimizing product damage, expiration, improper handling, and unnecessary waste.

Temperature Control & Product Quality

- Monitor freezer cases, storage areas, and merchandise to help maintain proper frozen conditions.

- Ensure frozen products remain frozen during receiving, stocking, rotation, and backstock activities.

- Identify products showing signs of thawing, damaged packaging, or compromised quality.

- Remove questionable or unsellable products according to established procedures.

- Report freezer temperature concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately.

- Ensure freezer doors remain properly closed when not actively being accessed.

- Reinforce proper handling practices to protect product quality and minimize damage.

- Respond promptly to freezer or refrigeration issues that could affect product integrity.

Safety & Cleanliness

- Follow and reinforce established safety and cleaning procedures.

- Maintain clean freezer doors, shelves, cases, floors, storage areas, and department equipment.

- Address spills, damaged products, broken packaging, ice buildup, and other potential hazards promptly.

- Reinforce safe lifting, carrying, stocking, and product-handling practices.

- Safely operate approved stocking and department equipment after appropriate training.

- Keep aisles, freezer areas, backrooms, and workspaces organized and free of unnecessary hazards.

- Ensure carts, pallets, stocking equipment, and merchandise do not create hazards for customers or associates.

- Report damaged or malfunctioning freezer equipment promptly.

- Follow appropriate procedures when working for extended periods inside freezer environments.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise, carts, equipment, or supplies as required.

- Ability to perform repetitive stocking, rotating, facing, organizing, and merchandising activities.

- Ability to work in freezer and cold environments for extended periods when necessary.

- Ability to safely handle cases of frozen merchandise throughout the workday.

- Ability to move between the sales floor, freezer, receiving area, and backroom throughout the workday.

- Ability to safely use carts, pallet jacks, stocking equipment, and other approved equipment after appropriate training.

- Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
