Position Summary

The Director of Pricing provides pricing expertise, rigorous analysis, and actionable recommendations as a strategic advisor to Merchandising. This leader identifies opportunities to use pricing and promotional levers to enable a great customer experience and deliver P&L results. This position plays a significant role in developing and overseeing strategic pricing initiatives across the organization. The Director also develops pricing talent and strengthens the tools and processes that support effective decisions at scale.

Main responsibilities:

- Advise merchandising leaders on pricing and promotional opportunities, trade-offs, risks, and expected financial outcomes.
- Lead analysis of, competitor activity, market trends, customer shopping behavior and category performance to inform pricing recommendations.
- Recommend approaches to everyday pricing, promotions, and markdowns that support customer value, competitive position, and category goals.
- Develop financial models and scenarios to assess the potential effects of pricing decisions on sales, margin, profitability, and customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to drive impact through pricing and promotional levers and partner with Merchandising to translate recommendations into executable plans.
- Establish measures of success, evaluate results, and refine recommendations based on performance.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Technology, and other partners to improve pricing execution and resolve challenges.
- Strengthen pricing tools, analytical capabilities, and processes to support timely, effective decision-making.
- Lead, coach, and develop pricing managers and analysts; set priorities across multiple initiatives.
- Present complex findings and clear, actionable recommendations to senior leaders.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10 or more years of experience in pricing, strategy, analytics, merchandising, or a related discipline in retail, consumer packaged goods, consulting, or a similar environment.
- At least 5 years of experience applying quantitative analysis to pricing, financial performance, customer behavior, or related business decisions.
- Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional partners, including senior business leaders.
- Strong financial acumen, analytical judgment, and ability to translate complex findings into practical recommendations.
- Ability to manage concurrent priorities and communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
