Job Title: Site Superintendent Job Description
Join our team as a Site Superintendent specializing in high-end residential construction. Your role will focus on delivering exceptional quality-driven construction services. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day aspects of multiple small jobs on site, ensuring safety, innovation, and integrity in all operations.
Responsibilities
- Set up job sites, including ordering sanitary facilities and dumpsters, and ensure safe site access.
- Implement and monitor job site safety practices and protection.
- Schedule and supervise pre-start meetings and educate clients and their families about the construction process.
- Assist the Project Manager in selecting subcontractors and vendors.
- Evaluate, train, and supervise employees on site.
- Coordinate carpenters, laborers, tools, equipment, and construction vehicles.
- Compose and distribute three-week look-ahead schedules to the Project Manager weekly.
- Order, accept delivery, and monitor materials.
- Meet with mechanical contractors to oversee tagging and documenting of mechanical systems.
- Schedule, monitor, and account for tools used.
- Maintain relations with neighbors and town officials.
- Request and monitor building department inspections and maintain current construction plans.
- Prepare and maintain 'as-built' utility site drawings.
- Send requests for information to architects and maintain a log of these requests.
- Review all design and shop drawings for accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare lumber and trim take-offs.
- Perform safety training and ensure job site cleanliness daily.
- Prepare daily field reports and communicate with the office.
- Document all time and material work.
- Coordinate and assist with final certificate of occupancy inspections and obtaining the certificate.
Essential Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in a variety of carpentry and general 'handyman' tasks.
- Good driving record is essential.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- B.S. or B.A. Degree in Business Management, Construction, or a related field is desirable.
- Seven to ten years of experience in all phases of residential construction with at least two years of supervisory experience.
- Carpentry experience preferred.
- Experience with luxury homes, remodeling, renovation, and additions.
Work Environment
You will primarily work on job sites, spending 95% of your time there. The role requires standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching/working overhead, and lifting and carrying materials frequently. Normal business hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional overtime. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Canaan, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
