About this role

Job Description:

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager, Performance Marketing Experimentation to join our team in Seattle, WA or Boston, MA , reporting to the Associate Director, Performance Marketing.

As a Senior Marketing Manager, you will own the strategy and operating approach for testing new ways to capture demand and acquire customers through performance marketing. This is a senior individual contributor role where you will identify the platforms, partners, and customer opportunities that are most important for Chewy to explore, develop a roadmap for experimentation, and turn promising ideas into measurable programs. The initial focus will include display and retargeting, as well as emerging advertising environments such as agentic commerce, but the scope will extend to other opportunities as the market and customer behavior evolve.

Customers are changing how they discover and choose products, and the advertising industry is changing with them. Many of the opportunities in this space do not yet have established audiences, measurement approaches, operating models, or playbooks. You will need to develop a point of view on where performance marketing is going, decide which platforms and partners are worth pursuing, and design experiments that help Chewy learn quickly without losing financial discipline. You will work across Marketing, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Creative, Merchandising, Finance, and external partners to shape solutions and determine what should be scaled.

What You’ll Do:

- Own the roadmap for performance marketing experimentation, identifying opportunities across display, retargeting, emerging advertising environments, and other customer acquisition channels
- Develop a point of view on changes in customer behavior, advertising technology, and the competitive landscape, and translate that perspective into clear recommendations about where Chewy should invest time and resources
- Lead experiments from hypothesis through decision, including the business case, audience strategy, creative and customer experience, measurement approach, financial guardrails, and scale criteria
- Develop and test display and retargeting opportunities that can expand Chewy’s ability to reach and convert high-intent customers
- Lead exploration of emerging advertising environments, including agentic commerce, by ensuring platform readiness, defining use cases, and establishing a clear path from pilot to scale
- Partner with Creative, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Merchandising, Finance, and other Marketing teams to develop solutions that account for customer needs, technical requirements, and business priorities
- Establish senior relationships with third-party platforms, publishers, and technology partners, influencing how they design advertising products, measurement solutions, data access, and integrations for Chewy
- Define the testing standards and decision frameworks used to evaluate new opportunities, including incrementality, customer acquisition efficiency, reach, frequency, and downstream business impact
- Make recommendations about which opportunities to scale, refine, or stop, based on evidence and a clear understanding of both immediate results and longer-term potential
- Build repeatable operating models and playbooks that allow successful experiments to be adopted across the broader performance marketing program
- Communicate strategy, progress, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership and partners across the company

What You’ll Need :

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, economics, business, computer science, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, ecommerce, growth marketing, digital advertising, product management, or a related field
- Experience developing and scaling new marketing programs, channels, partnerships, or customer acquisition capabilities
- Strong understanding of performance marketing, experimentation, customer acquisition, and measurement, including incrementality testing
- The ability to evaluate emerging platforms and advertising opportunities, develop a clear point of view, and make thoughtful investment recommendations
- Experience working with Creative, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Merchandising, Finance, and external partners to bring ambiguous ideas from concept to execution
- The ability to define test plans, success criteria, financial guardrails, and scale decisions when there is limited precedent or incomplete information
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, including the ability to assess large datasets and translate findings into clear recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex ideas in clear business terms
- Experience building senior relationships with third-party companies and influencing the design of solutions, products, or partnerships
- A tenacious attitude for learning and taking on new challenges, and an entrepreneurial mentality
