About the Role :

We are seeking a highly capable Field Delivery Manager - Electrical Plant & Test (EP&T) to lead the safe, efficient and reliable delivery of Zone and Distribution Substation critical maintenance and construction programs.

Reporting to the Head of Substations, Inspections & Meter Operations, the Field Delivery Manager will lead a team of six Senior Field Leaders and Field Leaders, who collectively oversee more than ~150 Substation Electricians and Protection & Control Testers based across five regional depots.

You will foster a high-performance culture centred on safety, accountability, collaboration and exceptional customer outcomes. You will also be responsible for driving operational performance, workforce capability, resource optimisation and continuous improvement across our network.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will influence our delivery strategy, lead workforce planning initiatives and champion innovation to enhance productivity, network reliability and service delivery. This is a critical leadership role that plays a key part in ensuring exceptional outcomes for our people, customers and the wider business.

*Base role location is flexible across our network, including our head office in Melbourne and our EP&T depots located in Burnley, Brooklyn, Geelong, Ballarat or Bendigo. The role will also require travel across our network.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead multiple electrical field operations depots, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance and construction programs.

- Provide strategic leadership, coaching and support to Senior Field Leaders and Field Leaders to drive high team performance.

- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

- Manage operational performance, budgets, resources, fleet and equipment to achieve business and customer outcomes.

- Drive workforce planning, capability development, succession planning and employee engagement across the region.

- Lead continuous improvement, innovation and the adoption of new technologies to improve safety, productivity and efficiency.

- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including employees, unions, design and delivery teams, regulators, customers and business partners.

- Optimise resource utilisation and operational delivery to improve network reliability, reduce costs and achieve key performance targets.

To succeed in this role you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Management discipline and/or demonstrated extensive experience in a similar role would be advantageous

- Significant leadership experience within utilities, electricity distribution, infrastructure, construction, maintenance or related industries.

- Demonstrated success managing multi-site field operations and geographically dispersed teams.

- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental management principles.

- Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, resources and operational performance.

- Experience leading workforce planning, performance management and organisational change initiatives.

- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and industrial relations capability.

- A track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
