About this role

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, Limited Scope, you will assume a supportive and accountable role, collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to meet their comprehensive needs while promoting optimal health, well-being, and safety, specifically performing radiological duties. Every day you will perform a variety of clinical tasks, including radiological duties, as directed by providers. You will also assist with front office duties, schedule appointments, and meticulously maintain accurate chart documentation, all in accordance with patient care standards and the State Medical Practice Act.

Assumes a supportive role and has responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act. May perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider. May assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and/or patient appointments. Responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance and performs radiological duties. Attends / conducts in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth. - Performs diagnostic radiology procedures, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals, practicing all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).

- Produces quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.

- Prepares patient for exam, provides information and instruction to the patient and/or family regarding the procedure, and responds to their physical and emotional needs.

- Assists the patient during the exam and positions the patient.

- Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records the patient's condition.

- Maintains technical operation of equipment and notifies service when necessary, notifying the supervisor of equipment problems and logging the service call/problem per department procedure.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Clinical skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.

High School or Diploma/G.E.D

Successful Course Completion - From an accredited medical assistant's program and externship completed.

Required License/Certifications:

Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist - Limited/Basic/NCT/LMRT Certification in Radiology

Certified Medical Assistant:

American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA)American Medical Technologist (AMT)National Healthcare Association (NHA)National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Preferred Qualifications:

One year experience

Basic Life Support American Heart Association
