About this role
TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time, Japan-based Customer Success Manager. This role is fully remote, with occasional regional travel. Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and proactively manage an assigned book of business, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for clients.
- Drive the full renewal lifecycle while identifying white-space opportunities to expand Kharon’s footprint within existing accounts.
- Act as a bridge between the client and internal teams to resolve complex inquiries regarding Kharon’s data, platform functionality, and integration workflows.
- Partner with Sales, Product, and Research teams to translate client feedback into actionable product enhancements, ensuring Kharon’s roadmap aligns with market needs.
- Maintain an expert-level understanding of Kharon’s data methodology, platform features, and the evolving regulatory landscape to deliver high-impact demonstrations.
- Systematically track client engagement metrics and health scores, intervening proactively to mitigate churn risk and ensure maximum ROI for the subscriber.
- Conduct training sessions (webinars, one-on-one sessions) to educate clients on new features
- Monitor client usage patterns and behavior to identify opportunities for upselling additional products or services.
QUALIFICATIONS + REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of professional experience in account management, customer success, or business development roles; Preferred direct experience within data intelligence, GRC, FinTech/RegTech, or Financial Crimes Compliance (AML/CFT/Sanctions).
- Must have bilingual proficiency in Japanese (Native/N1 level) and English (Business level).
- A demonstrated ability to navigate complex procurement processes and negotiate renewals/contracts effectively.
- Demonstrated experience leading client onboarding, delivering product demos, and facilitating ongoing training through webinars or one-on-one sessions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; the ability to troubleshoot technical hurdles while maintaining a seamless "white-glove" client experience.
- A high degree of persistence and determination, with a track record of meeting or exceeding retention and growth targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and the ability to quickly master sophisticated data-driven platforms.
- A technically curious mindset with the confidence to troubleshoot, support light data integration, and quickly learn new systems or platforms.
- A foundational understanding of compliance frameworks such as anti-money laundering, financial crime and illicit financing, sanctions regimes, and environmental, social and governance standards.

The base salary range at Kharon is set between ¥12,000,000 – ¥14,500,000 JPY. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, or benefits that may be part of the overall compensation package.
