Role Purpose

The MDM Functional Analyst supports the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of Master Data Management processes across enterprise data domains. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, data governance, and technical delivery teams , the role ensures master data requirements are clearly understood, correctly implemented, and consistently applied.

This role focuses on business definitions, data standards, functional requirements, and process design , helping to ensure master data is accurate, consistent, governed, and fit for operational, analytical, and regulatory use. Make mass updates and changes to Informatica Master and Reference data following defined processes.

Key responsibilities:

Master Data Requirements & Analysis

- Working with MDM Functional Managers, elicit, analyse, and document business requirements related to master data domains (e.g. Product, Customer, Supplier).

- Support the translation of business needs into clear functional specifications , including data attributes, hierarchies, business rules, and lifecycle requirements.

- Support the prioritisation and refinement of MDM requirements in alignment with business and regulatory needs.

Master Data Standards & Definitions

- Work with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Governance teams to define and maintain:

- Master data definitions and reference data

- Attributes, hierarchies, and relationships

- Business rules and validation logic

- Ensure functional definitions are aligned across systems, regions, and use cases.

Process & Lifecycle Support

- Support the design and documentation of end ‑ to ‑ end master data lifecycle processes , including creation, change, approval, and retirement.

- Assist in defining stewardship workflows, approvals, and exception handling processes.

- Help ensure processes are practical, auditable, and consistently followed.

Collaboration with Technical Teams

- Support the definition of functional requirements during solution design, build, and testing phases.

- Support functional testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.

Data Quality & Governance Alignment

- Partner with Data Quality teams to embed data quality rules, controls, and monitoring into master data processes.

- Support governance activities by ensuring master data artefacts are properly documented and maintained.

- Assist with issue investigation, root‑cause analysis, and remediation activities.

Change, Adoption & Continuous Improvement

- Support communication, training, and adoption of master data processes and standards within the business.

- Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.

- Contribute to the ongoing maturity of Master Data Management and Data Governance capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals.

- Strong understanding of Master Data Management concepts, data domains, and lifecycle processes .

- Solid knowledge of data governance and data quality principles .

- Proven ability to analyse business processes and translate them into clear data and functional requirements.

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical audiences.

- Structured, detail‑oriented approach with strong problem‑solving capability. Ability to work effectively in a cross ‑ functional, global, matrix organisation

Experience Required:

- Experience in a data, MDM, data governance, or business analysis role , preferably within a large or regulated organisation.

- Familiarity with MDM platforms (e.g. Informatica MDM, Stibo, or similar) is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Experience working with enterprise data standards, business rules, and process documentation is preferred.
