About the position

GEST MEX 2022 is looking for an experienced Senior Injection Process Technician – Robotics to join our new plastic injection manufacturing operation in El Marqués, Querétaro .

This is a hands-on technical position for an experienced injection molding specialist with strong process troubleshooting capabilities and practical experience with industrial robots.

The successful candidate will work directly on injection molding machines, molds, peripherals and robotic cells, supporting production startup, process optimization and equipment reliability.

Main Responsibilities

- Set up, start up and optimize plastic injection molding processes.

- Perform mold changes and machine setup.

- Define and adjust injection parameters to achieve stable and repeatable production.

- Troubleshoot molding defects, cycle time deviations and process instability.

- Support new mold and new product trials.

- Perform root cause analysis for process and equipment-related problems.

- Operate, teach and troubleshoot industrial robots used in injection molding cells.

- Modify robot positions, trajectories, offsets and basic programs.

- Troubleshoot robot alarms, I/O signals, EOAT and communication with injection molding machines.

- Recover robotic cells following faults, collisions or production interruptions.

- Support setup and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment and peripherals.

- Work closely with Quality, Production and Maintenance teams.

- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on cycle time, scrap reduction, OEE and process reliability.

- Train operators and junior technicians in injection molding and robotic cell operation.

- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities when required.

- Maintain process parameters and technical documentation.

Required Experience

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding .

- Strong practical knowledge of injection molding process setup and troubleshooting.

- Experience with hydraulic and/or electric injection molding machines.

- Experience with industrial robotic systems in injection molding applications.

- Ability to perform robot teaching, position adjustment, recovery and basic programming.

- Experience troubleshooting EOAT, sensors, safety circuits and machine/robot interfaces.

- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work directly on the production floor and independently resolve technical issues.

- Availability to work in a manufacturing environment and support different production shifts when required.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following will be highly valued:

- FANUC 6-axis robots

- FANUC M-series robots

- Netstal injection molding machines

- SEPRO, Wittmann, Yushin or KUKA robots

- Scientific Molding / Decoupled Molding

- RJG Master Molder methodology

- Hot runner systems

- IML – In-Mold Labeling

- Vision systems

- Servo-driven automation

- PLC and industrial I/O troubleshooting

- High-speed injection molding applications

- Food packaging or high-volume manufacturing

Profile

We are looking for a strong hands-on technician , not only a theoretical process engineer.

The ideal candidate is someone who can independently diagnose a molding problem, adjust the process, troubleshoot the robot and bring the production cell back into stable operation.

Technical degree (TSU), engineering degree or equivalent practical experience will be considered.
