About the Role
As a Team Leader, Lending, Markets and Trade Operations, you’ll play a key role in leading the Lending, Markets and Trade Operations function to ensure the efficient, accurate and compliant delivery of lending, trade finance, treasury and regulatory reporting activities. You will be responsible for managing non-financial risks, maintaining strong controls, developing team capability, and delivering high-quality outcomes for customers, regulators and internal stakeholders.

What will your day look like?
As a Team Leader, Lending, Markets and Trade Operations, you are accountable for:
- Lead and manage Lending, Trade and Markets Operations to ensure accurate, timely and compliant transaction processing.
- Oversee lending operations, including credit administration, security management, portfolio monitoring and regulatory reporting.
- Manage trade finance activities including Letters of Credit, Collections, Guarantees and Bonds.
- Support treasury operations through deal settlements, FX earnings monitoring, rate management and reconciliations.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and submission of regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with all regulatory
- requirements.
- Drive operational excellence by maintaining strong controls, managing non financial risks and ensuring compliance with ANZ policies
- and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a strong risk and customer-focused culture.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Ensure timely resolution of audit findings, operational incidents and reconciliation exceptions.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive experience in banking operations, preferably across lending, trade finance, and markets operations.
- Strong knowledge of international banking, trade finance products, payment systems, and settlement practices.
- Good understanding of local banking regulations, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to risk management, with the ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate operational and credit risks.
- Sound understanding of credit risk principles, including credit assessment, approval, reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, and reporting obligations.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, resolve issues, and recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to handle customer complaints professionally and use feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Thorough understanding of global trade finance products and their application within a diverse product portfolio.
- Practical knowledge of operational risk and compliance frameworks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Understanding of local legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to banking operations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Banking, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
