About the Role

The Senior Manager, Business Analysis Practice is accountable for leading the Business Analysis Practice within the Transformation Delivery Hub (TDH), ensuring the profession is equipped to deliver high-quality analysis, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and business design outcomes across ANZ.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, Transformation Delivery Hub, the role provides leadership across business analysis capability, professional standards, workforce insights, communities of practice and analysis excellence initiatives. The role acts as the principal subject matter expert and advocate for the business analysis profession, shaping practice direction, influencing analysis standards and driving capability uplift across the Transformation Delivery Hub.

The role also provides independent guidance, professional oversight and constructive challenge to delivery teams and leaders, helping ensure initiatives are underpinned by robust analysis, clearly defined business outcomes, well-articulated requirements and effective stakeholder engagement strategies. Through practice insights, reviews and health assessments, the role identifies opportunities to strengthen problem definition, solution design, scope management and business readiness, improving the likelihood of successful delivery outcomes.

Working closely with delivery leaders, practice leads and senior stakeholders, the role promotes contemporary business analysis approaches, supports workforce and capability planning, and builds a high-performing professional community that attracts, develops and retains business analysis talent. The role acts as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing analysis approaches, team structures and capability decisions to improve delivery effectiveness and value realisation across the transformation portfolio.

What will your day look like?

Practice Leadership & Professional Excellence

- Lead the Business Analysis Practice and act as the recognised leader of the profession within the Transformation Delivery Hub

- Define and maintain the vision, priorities and improvement roadmap for the Business Analysis Practice

- Promote business analysis excellence and foster a strong professional identity across the business analysis community

- Drive adoption of contemporary business analysis approaches, standards and industry best practices

- Provide thought leadership on business analysis capability, organisational maturity and emerging industry trends

- Provide expert advice, coaching and constructive challenge to practitioners, delivery teams and leaders on complex delivery matters

- Review and challenge delivery approaches, team structures and resourcing models to ensure alignment with delivery objectives and organisational standards

- Identify emerging delivery risks, capability gaps and performance issues, escalating and recommending corrective actions where appropriate

- Support teams to resolve complex challenges and strengthen the likelihood of achieving planned outcomes, milestones and benefits

- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and professional excellence across the practice.

Capability Development & Career Pathways

- Support capability models, role profiles and career pathways for business analysis professionals

- Lead practice-wide capability assessments and identify opportunities to strengthen organisational capability

- Sponsor learning, mentoring and professional development initiatives that support career growth and capability uplift

- Partner with Talent & Culture and Workforce Planning teams to identify future capability requirements and talent strategies

- Foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing and professional excellence

- Support the development and continuous improvement of the Business Analysis Practice

Analysis Standards, Methods & Quality

- Seek to continousuly improve business analysis frameworks, standards, methods, tools and guidance materials

- Establish best-practice approaches for requirements management, stakeholder engagement, process analysis, business design and solution assessment

- Provide expert guidance on analysis practices, business problem definition, value identification and requirements quality

- Promote consistency in analysis deliverables, artefacts and decision-support outputs

- Analyse lessons learned, practice performance indicators and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement

- Support reviews, quality assessments and assurance activities to strengthen business analysis outcomes

Community of Practice Leadership

- Lead and grow the Business Analysis Community of Practice

- Facilitate collaboration, learning and knowledge exchange across business analysis professionals

- Establish forums and engagement activities that strengthen capability, connectivity and professional identity

- Promote the sharing of lessons learned, analysis techniques and leading practices

- Recognise and celebrate professional achievements and contributions across the practice

Workforce & Talent Leadership

- Provide leadership input into workforce planning, supply and demand forecasting and capability strategies for the profession

- Identify workforce trends, emerging skills requirements and capability gaps

- Support attraction, onboarding, development and retention initiatives for business analysis professionals

- Provide insights and recommendations to inform workforce and capability decisions

- Contribute to the development of a compelling employee value proposition for Business Analysts within the TDH

Strategic Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement

- Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, TDH and senior leaders on business analysis capability, organisational maturity and professional practice matters

- Influence leaders to adopt best-practice analysis approaches that improve decision-making and delivery outcomes

- Build strong relationships across Transformation, Technology, Risk, Operations and Business teams

- Represent the Business Analysis Practice in leadership forums, governance groups and strategic initiatives

- Collaborate with other Practice Leads to drive an integrated and consistent approach to delivery capability across the TDH

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

- Demonstrated success in leading large and diverse teams, building organisational capability, and establishing performance frameworks that drive accountability, growth, and sustained business outcomes.

- Significant experience leading or developing business analysis capability, business architecture, process improvement, requirements management or professional practice functions within a regulated organisation

- Deep knowledge of business analysis frameworks, methodologies, tools and techniques

- Experience designing and implementing capability frameworks, learning pathways, accreditation programs or professional development initiatives

- Strong expertise in requirements management, stakeholder engagement, process modelling, business design and solution assessment

- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving enterprise adoption of new practices, standards and ways of working

- Experience establishing or leading Communities of Practice, mentoring programs or capability uplift initiatives

- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills

- Experience working across large-scale transformation or complex delivery environments

- Experience conducting capability assessments, practice maturity reviews, lessons learned reviews or continuous improvement activities

- Familiarity with analysis and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Visio, Signavio, ARIS, LeanIX or similar

- Knowledge of customer journey mapping, service design and human-centred design techniques

- Experience with business architecture, operating model design or business process management

- Understanding of data analysis, business intelligence and information management practices

- Thought leadership in business analysis and professional practice development

- Ability to influence without direct authority across large and complex organisations

- Strong facilitation and executive communication skills

- Experience building high-performing professional communities

- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical implementation

- Passion for growing capability, developing people and advancing the business analysis profession

- Degree in Business, Commerce, Technology, Economics or related discipline
