We are recruiting for a Manager to join our innovative and market-leading Digital Legal Delivery practice group.
This role is based in our Digital Disputes team in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth. We are seeking a Manager who is energised by the opportunity to work at the intersection of law and technology and committed to delivering excellence within a high-performing and supportive team environment.
Our Digital Disputes team are experts in tech-enabled legal services, specialising in complex large scale document reviews, sensitive and time critical investigations and contentious regulatory matters As a Manager in our Digital Disputes team you can expect to work on high-profile matters across multiple practice areas, while leveraging some of the most advanced tech and AI tools in the legal market.
This role is permanent and full-time.
What you'll do
- Manage and deliver fee-earning legal projects, including AI-assisted review solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client service
- Scope, design, price, and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficient workflows, clear processes, and successful outcomes. Supervise, mentor, train, and line manage law graduates and junior lawyers, building capability and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law and technology, and as an "expert" in relation to specialist areas of practice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, understanding the legal and commercial objectives and tailoring delivery accordingly.
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, budgets, costs, WIP, billing, and financial compliance to deliver profitable outcomes.
- Drive quality assurance and risk management by implementing effective controls, monitoring delivery standards, and escalating issues where required.
- Develop, review, and improve legal processes, project documentation, training materials, review guides, and client communications.
- Champion the use of technology, eDiscovery tools, AI and innovative solutions to improve processes and enhance efficiency, quality, and client outcomes.
- Contribute to business growth by supporting strategy, identifying innovative delivery approaches, participating in pitches and marketing initiatives, and promoting Digital Legal Delivery services.
What you'll bring
- Admitted to practice in Australia holding a current unrestricted practicing certificate.
- 5+ year's PQE in in commercial litigation, disputes, investigations, or remediation matters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with sound commercial judgement, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to step back from the detail to identify broader issues, opportunities and trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarise complex issues succinctly, prepare client-ready reports, and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Project management experience, including scoping, workflow design, budgeting, and risk management.
- Experience delivering large-scale legal projects using document review and case management platforms.
- Commercial awareness, with exposure to pricing, cost management, WIP, and billing.
- Strong technology aptitude, including legal technology, eDiscovery tools, and AI applications.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing lawyers and law graduates.
- Innovative mindset with a passion for AI, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement.
