About this role
- Assess patients' nursing care needs and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, pain score, level of consciousness, intake-output, and other relevant clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, blood/blood products, and other treatments as prescribed by the treating physician.
- Observe patients for changes in clinical condition and promptly report abnormalities to the treating doctor and Nursing In-Charge.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, investigations, and emergency interventions.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as applicable.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, including nursing notes, medication records, care plans, and observation charts.
- Provide appropriate care to critically ill, dependent, elderly, and high-risk patients as per departmental requirements.
Medication & Treatment Safety
- Verify medication orders before administration and follow the principles of safe medication administration.
- Maintain proper storage, handling, labeling, and documentation of medications.
- Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and report them immediately.
- Ensure safe handling and administration of high-alert medications as per hospital policy.
