Job Description

Arηs Group, Part of Accenture, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience to support complex digital transformation initiatives involving legislative, regulatory, and document lifecycle processes for one of its clients at the EU Institutions in Brussels.

Role & responsibilities

- Analyse business context, strategic objectives, and stakeholder needs to ensure solutions align with organisational goals.
- Gather, elicit, validate, and document business requirements using structured business analysis techniques.
- Assess and model current business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design and maintain business process models and workflows using recognised modelling standards such as BPMN and UML.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories to support solution design and development teams.
- Define acceptance criteria and support testing activities, including test scenario creation, defect analysis, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between business stakeholders, technical teams, testers, and project management teams.
- Analyse legislative and regulatory workflows and convert requirements into actionable user stories and business rules.
- Support cross-organisational and interinstitutional requirements gathering activities involving multiple stakeholders.
- Ensure end-to-end requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle, including change request management.
- Contribute to process standardisation initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in data analysis, validation, and reporting activities to support business decision-making.

Qualifications

Your profile

- Bachelor's degree (EQF Level 6) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
- Strong facilitation and workshop moderation capabilities.
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and traceability.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
- Capable of working autonomously while engaging effectively within cross-functional teams. 
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- English: Minimum B2 level (CEFR).
- Additional European languages are considered an asset.

Technical Skills

- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Strong experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with business process modelling using BPMN, UML, or equivalent methodologies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with requirements management and backlog management tools such as Jira, GitLab, or similar.
- Minimum 2 years of experience using collaboration platforms such as Confluence.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working within Agile, Scrum, and software development environments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience applying business analysis methodologies, including: User Stories
- Use Cases
- Process Analysis
- Functional Specifications
- Acceptance Criteria Definition

- Minimum 1 year of experience with diagramming and wireframing tools such as: Microsoft Visio
- Lucidchart
- Balsamiq
- Figma

- Minimum 1 year of experience in legislative, legal, regulatory, or public sector environments.
- Experience managing requirements traceability throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Any of the following would be considered an asset

- Experience with SQL for data analysis, validation, and reporting.
- Experience with legislative drafting processes and document lifecycle management.
- Experience in document standardisation and transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of structured document formats such as XML and Akoma Ntoso.
- Experience defining business rules and specifications for converting legacy document formats (e.g., Microsoft Word) into structured document standards.
- Familiarity with interinstitutional workflows and governance processes.
- Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Certifications

The following certifications are considered a strong asset:

- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)
- PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
- IIBA or equivalent Business Analysis certifications
- Agile or Scrum-related certifications (PSM, CSM, SAFe, etc.)
