About the role
The Superintendent - Maintenance Execution at Orica’s Limay Manufacturing Site is a key leadership role responsible for driving maintenance excellence, asset reliability, and operational performance across the site. You will supervise maintenance execution, reliability engineering, spare parts management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure critical equipment remains safe, efficient, and available throughout its lifecycle while optimizing maintenance costs.

What you will be doing
- Ensure safe and effective execution of daily maintenance activities, ensuring rapid response to equipment breakdowns and minimal disruption to production operations.
- Prioritize maintenance work based on safety, environmental, quality, and operational requirements, partnering closely with Production Superintendents and Shift Supervisors to maximize plant performance.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed to the highest standards, meeting quality, compliance, and reliability requirements established by the Maintenance Engineering team.
- Drive asset reliability and continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging technical expertise, implementing maintenance best practices, and collaborating with engineering specialists on complex maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance resources, workforce capability, overtime, and contractor support to ensure the site is appropriately staffed with qualified and trained technicians.
- Oversee maintenance budgets, spare parts utilization, workshop operations, and resource planning to deliver cost-effective maintenance outcomes and optimize asset lifecycle performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, conduct regular equipment inspections, and ensure all plant and equipment are safely handed back to operations with required documentation and permits completed.
What you will bring
- Registered and licensed Mechanical Engineer with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
- Minimum 7 years of professional mechanical engineering experience , including at least 5 years in a maintenance or engineering supervisory role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, equipment reliability, maintenance best practices, and applicable regulatory and industry standards .
- Proven knowledge of PLCs, electro-pneumatic systems, hydraulic controls, and industrial automation technologies .Demonstrated experience in leading maintenance teams, managing resources, and driving operational excellence in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence employees, contractors, and leaders at all levels while fostering a culture where safety is the highest priority .
