ABOUT THE SEGMENT
The Taxation & Compliance division within the Accounts & Finance function ensures organizational adherence to applicable Indian statutory regulations, tax filings, and legal requirements. Sitting alongside general accounting, reporting, payables, and receivables, this function maintains accurate tax records, resolves discrepancies, conducts regular reconciliations, and manages portal operations. The segment acts as a central compliance anchor, collaborating with internal teams, external auditors, and tax consultants to support statutory audits and litigation requirements.
THE ROLE
The Executive – Taxation position is responsible for supporting day-to-day tax operations and maintaining compliance across applicable tax regulations. This role focuses on executing precise tax calculations, maintaining reconciliations, filing timely returns, and supporting statutory audits and tax proceedings.
As an Individual Contributor, you will ensure seamless tax execution, track statutory deadlines, maintain acknowledged tax records, and resolve accounting mismatches. You will work closely with internal finance stakeholders, auditors, and external tax consultants to ensure complete compliance integrity.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- GST & TDS Return Preparation & Filing: Hands-on execution for preparing and filing GST and TDS returns, including GST Annual Returns, on or before statutory due dates.
- Input Tax Credit (ITC) Reconciliations: Assisting in reconciliation of GSTR-2B with books of accounts and active follow-up on discrepancies.
- Tax Record Keeping & Compliance Tracking: Systematic maintenance of tax documentation, acknowledgments, notice files, and tracking of the statutory compliance calendar.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Prepare and verify calculations, workings, and schedules for GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance.
- Execute timely filings of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C (Annual Return), and quarterly TDS returns.
- Perform monthly GSTR-2B and Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliations against general ledger entries to identify and resolve mismatches.
- Maintain and reconcile TDS deduction worksheets, vendor records, and tax deposition entries.
- Prepare tax-related MIS reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal review.
- Compile and organize documentation, schedules, and reconciliation data required for statutory audits and tax audits.
- Assist in gathering data, workings, and submissions for GST, TDS, and Income Tax notices or litigations.
- Maintain structured records of tax submissions, return acknowledgments, tax notices, and correspondence.
- Operate government tax portals (GST, TRACES, Income Tax) and tax compliance software (Computax, CompuTDS and CompuGST) for routine activities.
- Coordinate directly with internal finance colleagues, auditors, and external tax consultants on tax requirements.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com)/Master’s degree (M.Com)/ MBA in Finance, or CA Inter / CA IPCC qualification.
- Taxation Experience: 3–4 years of hands-on experience in Indian taxation, specifically GST, TDS, and Income Tax operations.
- Portal Expertise: Practical hands-on experience operating the GST Portal, TRACES, and the Income Tax Portal.
- Software Proficiency: Direct working knowledge of Computax, CompuTDS and CompuGST software.
- Reconciliation & Spreadsheet Skills: Command of MS Excel or Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and data reconciliation techniques.
- Execution & Accuracy: Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and systematic record-keeping capabilities.
- Communication & Coordination: Clear professional communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, external consultants, and statutory auditors.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Qualification in CA Inter / CA IPCC.
- Strong experience in either CompuTax, CompuTDS or CompuGST.
- Prior exposure to handling tax audit schedules or compiling responses for tax litigations/notices.
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
