Job Title: Intermediate Project Architect Job Description
The Intermediate Project Architect supports the delivery of high-end commercial interior projects across all phases of design and construction. This role focuses on developing complete and accurate construction document packages, coordinating consultants, supporting design development, and participating in construction administration activities. The position requires advanced proficiency in Revit, strong technical documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate confidently with clients, consultants, and project teams. Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate comprehensive construction document packages for commercial interior projects.
- Support design development efforts by translating design concepts into detailed technical documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants and project team members throughout all project phases.
- Perform site surveys and conduct code reviews to inform design and documentation.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and attending site visits.
- Communicate project status clearly and professionally with clients, consultants, and internal team members.
- Contribute to project delivery across all phases, from early design through construction closeout.
- Maintain accuracy, quality control, and technical detailing within all drawing sets.
- Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high standards of design and documentation.
- Engage in an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture by taking ownership of work and contributing beyond the core job description.
Essential Skills
- 56+ years of architectural experience with a focus on commercial interiors.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, including the ability to independently produce and coordinate complete drawing sets.
- Strong experience producing complete construction document sets for commercial interior projects.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy, quality control, and technical detailing in construction documents.
- Experience managing consultant coordination within Revit environments.
- Background supporting workplace, retail, hospitality, media, or similar commercial interior projects.
- Proven ability to coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, and clients across all project phases.
- Experience conducting site surveys, code reviews, and construction administration activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for client-facing interactions.
- Professional presentation skills and the ability to communicate design intent and project status to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or a related field preferred.
- Commercial interiors experience strongly preferred, particularly high-end workplace, retail, hospitality, or media projects.
- Architectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure is a plus.
- Experience with workplace interiors, retail design, hospitality design, or media-related interior environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take ownership and contribute beyond defined responsibilities.
- Comfort working in a boutique design firm culture with projects comparable to larger industry competitors.
- Interest in exposure to all phases of project delivery and direct collaboration with firm leadership.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and Fridays remote, while remaining flexible for occasional Friday site visits or client meetings. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
