POSITION TITLE
Associate Accountant
POSITION LOCATION
Richmond VA, Lynchburg VA or Hybrid Work from Home
YOUR ROLE
The position serves as an Associate Accountant that supports withholding tax filings and performs accounting processes for the USLI Closed Block team.
What you will be doing
- Prepares State and Federal tax filings (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Monitor and reconcile Federal and State withholding payments
- Work with various agencies to resolve tax disputes or discrepancies
- Automate and maintain existing Account Reconciliations in CERT
- Performs Quarterly Account Rec preparation and review
- Completes monthly close processes including journal entries, analysis, balancing and reconciliations
- Leads process improvement initiatives including organizing teams, requirements gathering, solution identification, issue resolution and process implementation
- Assist with accounting discrepancies including providing research and guidance on admin system processes and general ledger
- Support and complete KPMG and GCAS audit request
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Participate as a surge resource as needed
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent accounting experience
- Project management and process improvement experience from a functional perspective
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
- Advanced Technology skills: Excel
- Motivated Team Player
COMPENSATION
