Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician III
FULL TIME - DAYS (1ST SHIFT)
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Biomedical Equipment Technician installs, tests, repairs, maintains, and
calibrates clinical medical devices. Follows established policies and procedures and according to
manufacturer guidelines and recommendations. The Biomedical Equipment Technician ensures adherence to hospital and departmental policies and regulatory standards and guidelines. Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health by maintaining established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards. Demonstrates the Baptist Health standards in all interpersonal relations.
Job Description (General duties/responsibilities, but not limited to):
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on hospital equipment through work orders daily.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safe and approved troubleshooting techniques on medical devices.
- Reads schematics and service manuals, consults with vendors and service representatives to assist in troubleshooting.
- Utilizes basic test equipment and completes repairs in a time and cost-effective manner with patient safety as the primary concern.
- Assemble, install, and set up limited range of hospital equipment.
- Perform the initial acceptance of the new equipment and add assets into database.
- Performs PM interval for equipment and conducts electrical safety and basic performance check.
- Mentoring BMET I and BMET II.
- Files copy of purchase order and vendor information and length of warranty for reference.
- Order necessary parts and maintain required par levels.
Requirements:
- Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering / Biomedical (BMET) / Information Technology.
- 8 years biomedical experience in lieu of Associate Degree
- Military Electronics / Military Biomedical Experience in lieu of Associate Degree
- Bachelors in Engineering can be substituted for 5 years work experience
- Masters Engineering Degree can be substituted for 6 years work experience
