Applied Technology is a prototyping center within Motorola Solutions. We specialize in proof-of-concept and low-volume advanced communications products for government and industry customers.

## Job Description

Provide critical technical support to ensure high-reliability assembly and repair of electronic assemblies. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing to execute complex soldering, rework, and assembly tasks.

Specific tasks include the following:

- Component-Level Soldering & Rework: Perform fine-pitch surface mount (SMT) and through-hole (PTH) soldering, desoldering, removal, and replacement down to 0201/0402 components, QFPs, and BGAs.
- Trace & Board Repair: Repair damaged PCB traces, pads, eyelets, ground planes, and laminate surfaces.
- Wire & Harness Assembly: Perform precision wire stripping, tinning, splicing, pin crimping, and direct-to-board wiring or connector termination.
- Documentation & Compliance: Follow engineering change orders (ECOs), assembly drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Active or recent certification in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) or J-STD-001 .
- Proficiency with stereo microscopes, high-magnification scopes, hot-air rework stations, vacuum desoldering tools, and thermal tweezers.
- Experience reading schematics, blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), and mechanical drawings.
- Solid understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control protocols and lead-free (RoHS) vs. leaded solder processes.
- High manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity to work under magnification for extended periods.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Will consider candidates with less experience if they demonstrate strong relevant knowledge, hands-on skills, and a proven ability to learn quickly in a technical environment.

Target Base Salary Range: $61,700 - $74,700 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in high-reliability electronics assembly, solder rework, and PCBA troubleshooting.
