INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
Grimco is seeking a rising junior or senior to join our Accounting & Finance team at our Sunset Hills, Missouri location. This internship spans both accounting and finance functions, offering hands-on involvement in projects and recurring financial activities throughout the term. You will work closely with three controllers and a staff accountant, with frequent exposure to company officers and directors.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assist the Controller with development and implementation work related to FP&A software.
- Support midyear reforecasting and complete lease analysis and lease management activities.
- Prepare and support recurring financial reporting, including the Daily Executive Dashboard and Weekly Cash Report.
- Assist with branch financials, MPD financials, monthly close activities, Concur reporting, and regulatory reporting.
- Support financial analysis, including price-volume-mix (PVM) analysis as data availability and Snowflake progress allow.
- Research and analyze the use of AI in financial analysis and the application of accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Currently a rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with financial data and recurring deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with accounting, finance, and business leaders.
- Comfortable with, or eager to learn, Excel and other financial analysis tools; interest in AI applications in finance and accounting is a plus.

- Hands-on experience across both accounting and finance functions, with exposure to real business reporting, analysis, and close activities.
- Direct mentorship and day-to-day learning alongside three controllers and a staff accountant.
- Exposure to company officers and directors and a practical view of how financial information supports business decisions.
- Experience with financial analysis, cash flow operations, accounting standards, lease analysis, FP&A tools, and the use of AI in a professional finance setting.
