About this role
MTSI is seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in aircraft and air vehicle maintenance, logistics, acquisitions, military flight operations, or quality assurance to support critical defense programs. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of ten years of combined expertise across these domains, along with deep knowledge of FAR, DoD acquisition and maintenance regulations, NIST standards, and federal quality assurance requirements. This role requires proficiency in AS9100 compliance, DCMA INST 8210.1, SPC methodologies, risk management frameworks, and supply chain/manufacturing processes, with the ability to drive measurable improvements in program performance. Candidates must excel at communicating across diverse teams and fostering collaborative partnerships with suppliers, contractors, and government stakeholders. Success in this position requires comfort operating in fast‑paced manufacturing and flight environments, sound judgment under pressure, and readiness to support intermittent travel. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required, and a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience is preferred. Additional familiarity with military test ranges, telemetry operations, aircraft logistics, manufacturing systems, and tools such as MATLAB or SAP is highly desirable. Professional certifications such as CQA, Six Sigma Black Belt, or ASQ credentials are preferred.
· Minimum 10 years combined experience of aircraft/air vehicle maintenance, acquisition, logistics or quality assurance, military flight operations · Extensive knowledge of FAR, DoD, Acquisitions, Maintenance regulations/procedures, NIST standards, and federal acquisition requirements related to quality assurance/control. Proficient in AS9100 compliance, DCMA INST 8210.1, supply chain management, manufacturing, and shipping standards. · Proficiency in quality control methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and risk management frameworks, ideally in a manufacturing environment within aerospace, automotive, or comparable industry. Ability to improve program performance. · Exceptional communication skills for interfacing with cross-functional teams (suppliers and government partners), contractors, and DoD leadership. Focused on fostering partnerships; collaborative and capable of developing and maintaining good working relationships with both prime/sub-tier contactors partners. · Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing and flight operations with ability to manage competing priorities in a high-stakes environment with strict deadlines. Capable of having direct and candid conversations to facilitate mission success · Familiarity with military test ranges, telemetry operations, and flight scheduling software. · Ability to support intermittent travel to support mission achievement · Security Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). · Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Quality Assurance, Aeronautics/Aviation Maintenance, or related field. Equivalent military or professional experience may be considered. · Familiarity with logistics elements, operational aircraft maintenance, manufacturing, cyber, software tools such as MATLAB, SAP Quality Module, or integrated quality management systems is desirable · Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Black Belt, or ASQ-certified inspector credentials.
