About this role
Job Description
As an Event Analyst at Reuters Events, you will take ownership of developing commercially successful conference products across critical industries, including sustainable business, pharmaceuticals, energy, and artificial intelligence.
You will research markets, identify emerging trends and commercial opportunities, and translate complex business issues into compelling event propositions for senior executives. You will also build relationships with key industry decision-makers, curate high-value content, and recruit senior-level speakers.
This is a conference product creation role rather than an event logistics position. Your focus will be on market intelligence, commercial strategy, content development, and creating must-attend events that help shape important industry conversations.
Key Responsibilities
In this opportunity as an Event Analyst, you will:
- Research Markets: Conduct in-depth research to understand emerging trends, business challenges, customer priorities, and growth opportunities across critical industries.
- Develop Event Products: Transform market insights into commercially compelling conference concepts, agendas, content, and positioning.
- Identify Commercial Opportunities: Apply commercial judgment to identify growing markets and develop event propositions with strong audience and revenue potential.
- Create High-Value Content: Curate relevant and business-critical content designed to attract and engage senior-level executives.
- Build Industry Relationships: Establish relationships with key decision-makers, industry leaders, and influential figures across priority sectors.
- Recruit Senior Speakers: Identify, approach, and secure senior-level industry speakers who can bring credibility, expertise, and valuable perspectives to each event.
- Shape Industry Conversations: Create conferences that address important opportunities and challenges and contribute to how industries respond to them.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with colleagues across Reuters Events to support the development and commercial success of each event product.
- Own Business Outcomes: Take responsibility for your event portfolio, working toward defined commercial objectives and maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Qualifications
You’re a fit for the role of Event Analyst if you have the following required qualifications:
- A university degree in any discipline.
- Previous experience in events, market research, content development, commercial analysis, or a related area.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand markets, industries, and complex business issues.
- A commercial mindset and interest in understanding the factors that influence customer decisions.
- Ability to identify emerging business trends and translate them into relevant and compelling event propositions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and pitch ideas effectively in person, by email, and over the phone.
- Strong relationship-building skills and confidence engaging with colleagues, clients, senior executives, speakers, and other key stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with the initiative and creativity to develop new ideas and pursue commercial opportunities.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and work effectively toward defined targets.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience researching industries, markets, customers, or emerging business trends.
- Experience developing conference agendas, business content, event propositions, or other market-led products.
- Experience engaging with senior executives, industry leaders, or prospective speakers.
- Exposure to industries such as sustainable business, pharmaceuticals, energy, or artificial intelligence.
- Experience working in a commercially focused or target-driven environment.
- Demonstrated interest in global business trends and the issues influencing senior-level decision-makers.
