Part of the Global Employee Benefits Practice, the purpose of the Marketing Activation Manager role is to turn agreed Global Marketing priorities into effective, market-ready marketing activity and ensure that global propositions, campaigns, content and tools are translated into practical activation across the Global Practice and priority markets.
The role owns the day-to-day delivery of agreed campaigns, launches and marketing workstreams, coordinating specialist contributors, shared services and agencies; adapting approved messaging and materials for different markets; and ensuring that outputs are adopted and used by regional and country teams.
The role is a broad marketing generalist with strong project and delivery skills and practical creative/content capability.
Key Accountabilities
Campaign and programme activation
- Take approved briefs through detailed planning and delivery, coordinating workstreams, milestones, dependencies, approvals and contributors.
- Coordinate content, design, digital, events, video, email, social, sales tools and other activity required to take a programme to market.
Market activation and localisation
- Work with regional and country marketing teams and EB leaders to understand how agreed global propositions and campaigns need to be adapted for local audiences, maturity and market context.
- Adapt approved messaging and assets for local audiences and build practical market activation packs, toolkits, briefing materials and launch support.
Content, creative and asset production
- Produce and edit day-to-day marketing materials and coordinate designers, copywriters, production partners and agencies where specialist support is required.
- Maintain consistency with agreed Global Practice proposition, Howden brand standards and tone of voice, seeking specialist review where required.
- Keep relevant content, templates, toolkits and assets organised and up to date so that teams can find and reuse approved materials.
Sales enablement and consultant support
- Work with Sales Enablement to translate approved marketing, proposition, thought-leadership and product outputs into practical consultant and sales tools.
- Support feedback loops with consultants and market teams so that enablement materials are practical, relevant and usable.
Global Practice and technology activation
- Provide activation support across Product, Multinational and wider Global Practice priorities, helping turn complex product and proposition content into clear, usable materials that can be used by consultants and regional teams.
- Build and maintain practical activation materials that help markets use central capabilities consistently and confidently.
- Support rollout of agreed product and proposition messages while allowing for local adaptation.
Measurement, coordination and improvement
- Act as the day-to-day marketing contact for allocated workstreams; track delivery, adoption and engagement; and escalate strategic or resourcing issues when needed.
- Capture feedback, lessons learned and evidence of what is working across markets, using it to improve future activation plans.
Stakeholder coordination
- Act as the day-to-day marketing contact for allocated delivery workstreams, ensuring stakeholders understand what is happening, what is needed from them and when outputs will be delivered.
- Build strong working relationships with Global Practice leaders, regional and country marketers, Product, Sales Enablement and specialist marketing colleagues.
- Capture requirements early, manage expectations and reduce rework by ensuring briefs and approvals are clear before production begins.
Skills & Experience
- Broad marketing experience across campaign, content, proposition, product marketing, events, digital or related disciplines, with strong evidence of delivery from brief through to activation.
- Strong project or programme management capability, with the ability to structure complex work, coordinate multiple contributors and keep delivery moving.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with confidence working with senior stakeholders, subject-matter experts and colleagues across multiple markets.
- Strong writing, editing and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Practical creative and production capability, particularly presentation design, content editing and development of marketing assets.
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of how marketing activity should support growth, adoption and pipeline rather than simply producing outputs.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed, international environment and managing multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
- Confident user of digital and AI tools and able to apply them responsibly to improve speed, quality and reuse.
Desirable
- Experience in Employee Benefits, insurance, professional services, technology or another complex B2B environment.
- Experience adapting global campaigns or propositions for multiple countries or regions.
- Experience working with Product, Sales Enablement or consulting teams to build practical market and client-facing tools.
- Experience managing agencies, freelance specialists or shared-service teams.
Personal attributes
- Practical, organised and delivery-focused, with a strong bias towards getting agreed work completed.
- Curious and collaborative, willing to ask questions and understand the purpose behind a piece of work before executing it.
- Comfortable moving between detailed production and wider commercial context.
- Adaptable and pragmatic about when to use internal capability, shared services or external partners.
