Job Summary

Windsor Salt is hiring a Temporary Production Team Lead to join our Belle Plaine production facility.

The Production Team Lead will be the driving force behind a high-performing manufacturing team, ensuring that daily production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Youll coordinate workflows, allocate tasks, and provide hands-on guidance to team members—serving as both a mentor and a problem-solver on the production floor

Duties and Responsibilities

- Safely executing the production plan

- Inventory stock keeping for production related materials (ingredients, safety supplies, spare parts).

- Counting of finished goods inventory.

- New employee training and on boarding.

- Front line equipment troubleshooting with operators

- Ensuring compliance to safety, quality (including food safety, product quality, and regulatory) and environmental policies.

- Ensuring compliance to MCS sheets.

- Ensuring compliance to operator performed maintenance.

- Working with the operators and Mill Manager to improve equipment efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives

- Using SAP to print labels and production orders, as well as viewing production plans.

- Assisting package operators with day-to-day tasks as required, including warehousing finished product, or loading/unloading truck package trucks

- Act in place of Mill manager

- Strictly observes GMP requirements is quality conscious reporting all known defects. Pays close attention to coding, product quality, GMPs etc.

- Is familiar with the plants Food Safety program and how it applies to his/her job. Is trained and reviews/understands the plants process controls of scalping catches, magnet catches, and metal detection on systems where applicable.

- Understands the recording of Food Safety Process Controls observations on production records/logs and how they pertain to the quality, legality and safety of products.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- General understanding of industrial processes and equipment used in a production facility.

- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.

- Strong attention to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

- Must be able to work productively in a group/team environment.

- Physical ability to stoop, twist, bend, reach, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 25 kg.

Work Environment

- Exposure to varying temperatures, salt dust, and industrial noise.

- Requires standing for extended periods, lifting tools and parts, climbing stairs, and performing hands-on maintenance tasks.

- Must be able to wear all PPE, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.

- Regular interaction with equipment, machinery, and routine plant operations.
