Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility upkeep throughout Boca Woods Country Club. This position supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Club facilities, building systems, equipment, and amenities by completing assigned maintenance work in a timely and professional manner. The Maintenance Technician works under the direction of the Director of Maintenance and assists with maintaining Club facilities to establish operational, safety, and appearance standards.

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general maintenance throughout Club facilities and amenities.

- Diagnose equipment and facility-related problems and repair, replace, test, or adjust components as appropriate within the scope of the position.

- Perform general mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other building-maintenance functions within applicable training, qualifications, and licensing requirements.

- Read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, specifications, and other technical information necessary to complete assigned maintenance activities.

- Inspect facilities, equipment, and building systems to identify defective components, unsafe conditions, maintenance needs, or other operational concerns.

- Promptly report significant equipment failures, safety concerns, unusual conditions, or repairs requiring additional expertise to the Director of Maintenance.

- Complete assigned preventive maintenance activities for building systems, machinery, equipment, fixtures, and Club facilities according to established schedules.

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace lighting, fixtures, and other applicable electrical components within the scope of the position.

- Inspect and perform routine maintenance of plumbing fixtures, faucets, drains, and related components throughout Club facilities.

- Perform general carpentry, painting, touch-up work, and minor facility repairs necessary to maintain the appearance and functionality of Club property.

- Monitor applicable pool equipment, pumps, water levels, and related systems and perform assigned routine pool-maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and applicable requirements.

- Conduct routine visual inspections of Club facilities and amenities, including restrooms, pool areas, locker rooms, fitness areas, golf-related facilities, and other assigned areas.

- Respond to maintenance work orders and service requests in a timely manner and communicate the status of significant or incomplete repairs to appropriate supervision.

- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, testing devices, ladders, material-handling equipment, and other maintenance equipment safely and appropriately.

- Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance work areas and properly store tools, equipment, supplies, and materials.

- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all Club, departmental, and equipment safety procedures.

- Assist with moving, transporting, setting up, or storing equipment, supplies, furniture, boxes, and other materials as needed.

- Assist with obtaining maintenance parts, materials, and supplies as authorized by the Director of Maintenance.

- Maintain appropriate documentation of completed work, preventive maintenance, repairs, materials used, and other information as required.

- Coordinate professionally with Club departments and minimize disruption to members, guests, employees, events, and daily operations while performing maintenance work.

- Assist with maintenance-related emergencies, special projects, facility improvements, and other departmental needs as assigned.

- Perform additional maintenance responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational, technical, or trade-school education in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of two years of building, facilities, commercial property, hospitality, or related maintenance experience preferred.

- Previous maintenance experience within a private club, hotel, resort, restaurant, residential community, or similar facility environment preferred.

- Working knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.

- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools, including drills, saws, wrenches, hammers, and other maintenance equipment.

- Ability to use applicable meters, testing devices, measuring equipment, and material-handling equipment.

- Ability to read and understand work orders, equipment manuals, safety instructions, and basic technical documentation.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify maintenance issues and determine when additional technical assistance is required.

- Ability to prioritize and complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining attention to safety, quality, and detail.

- Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision and as part of the Maintenance team.

- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, employees, members, guests, vendors, and contractors.

- Basic computer or mobile-device skills sufficient to access work orders, communicate maintenance information, and complete applicable documentation.

- Valid driver's license required and ability to meet applicable Club vehicle-insurance requirements.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and occasional emergency or after-hours assignments based on operational needs.

- Applicable maintenance, pool, HVAC, electrical, or other trade certifications preferred. Any license or certification legally required for assigned work must be maintained as applicable.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
